I just played the most exhausting OW match I’ve had in a while, and as tank even (which doesn’t help). If you are curious the code is here: NFG18R.
Resuming: Lucio, Moira, Venture and Reaper stalling the point at regular intervals made this match the most boring and soul-consuming thing ever. I am not the best tank, and it was a placement match (Gold - Silver), just to contextualize. The first point I managed to get 26 elims on Dva and we still lost the first point… I swear, if you are curious, get a look at it… Clash is definitely unpleasant.
I have partially watched your replay and there are a few reasons why it played out the way it did.
Seems like you’re in a very low rank game. If I had to guess, probably silver-gold.
You are doing a ton of mistakes as a tank. You shouldn’t be running after enemies like that and/or overextending without necessity (especially when you don’t know how to do it safely, within the LoS/range of your healers). Had you not overextended after the very first fight, you would have taken that point.
The current batch of devs is substantially less competent than any of the previous ones. The difference between them and the OW1 team is night and day. In this context, they introduced respawn time shortening (I think they called them ‘waves’ or something along those lines in the patch notes). Of course, it works both ways, but when you’re winning, it’s working against you. So, the enemies are rejoining the fight faster, which is both frustrating and less competitive than the authors of this idea think.
Indeed. I barely play tank, I was just doing placements for the sake of it. I haven’t said I didn’t make any mistakes, far from that. The problem of the mode in my opinion is the great stall potentatial which is kinda anger inducing. If the enemy team coordinates the stall, it’s an endless loop.
Did you watch the fight? I need to wait for Venture burrow to end, Reaper’s wraith to cease, etc… Like, isn’t that exploitable and kinda bad at the source?
Wow just watched, it was stall fest for sure. Annoying asss game mode, i hope they remove it from QP and Comp and chuck it in Arcade. Nice grav at the end, getting that pesky lucio lol
Hanaoka is nearly passable but Anubis is incredibly bad… too little, too many angles… i won something like 100% of 15 match playing with the same hero: Symmetra.
Oh you can absolutely blame one person for a loss.
One teammate performing extremely poorly is a significant loss to a team’s power floor and ceiling, especially if it’s a tank or support.
You don’t need to be a scoreboard princess either. I can see in game if the Ana who had middling or low healing is turning everything pink all the time. I can see and feel if a tank pulling low damage is still occupying and taking space…
Here’s the thing though, the matchmaker frequently gives one team MORE THAN ONE absolute nub while the other team has five actual Overwatch players.
Should I rephrase? I never said I am the best tank, making mistakes is expected. I can make mistakes and still enjoy other games modes. Is this clearer now? I can enjoy escort even if we lose, etc… I am just saying Clash feels very annoying in certain circumstances! I don’t think you should be GM to enjoy the game, what are you talking about?
The reason why I answer after some time is I have a life, you are so freaking unplesant, and this might be the euphemism of the year… If you can’t participate to a decent conversation as an adult, get out.
