just to make sure, most people find it very unnerving instead of relaxing when somebody (especially a stranger) tells them to chill. in case you are being genuine, you are hurting your cause by telling that to them. they will just get even more angry.
the best course of action is to either say absolutely nothing, or (if you think it can work in the situation) make a kind of joke that everyone can laugh at
You are truly of the minority with that opinion. Those maps pretty much see 4-5 teams worth of people dropping the game before the match begins (At least from what I saw in QPC). Even a lot of the Pro players hate the map which is why they got removed from Competitive.
HLC I could barely deal with but Paris is god awful in design, even I started dropping game if I was put in that map.
There’s a difference between telling someone to relax and telling someone to relax with the flame.
It does help, most of the time the person flaming our teammate completely stops when I ask and at least waits until the end of the game before they start flaming again.
People disliking something isn’t a reason to dislike it. That is a pretty typical logical fallacy. At the same time the opposite also isn’t a reason. Basically somethings popularity is not an argument.
People keep parroting that it has “bad design” without thinking about it at all. Every aspect of the map that people think is a problem is seen in several other maps or not even causing the issues they think it is causing.

Its just qp is just an excuse.
Had a group tell me its just qp and for once i just ate it and said to myself: true! Its just qp.
1min later the same group complains to me & my friends (3 stack) just enjoying the game.
I replied: chill its just qp
They got super mad…
But its a reason i started to just play comp instead. I don’t want to play with players refusing to not throw. (meta picking is not even a question, just stop beeing completely useless please)
it really feels like people aren’t even trying and even get upset if you dare to switch to a better hero against them… Stop ruining my fun

widows crying in chat the enemy ball shall leave them alone. Like wtf? Let me sit on the payload as defender and cry the enemy team has to stop attacking me… We really really need pve blizzard…
You’re thinking of Quickplay classic thats where people are allowed to have fun. QP is just where the angry comp players go to warm up.
lol reminds me of the first few years of this game… the common refrain in forums bounced back and forth between two complaints:
“Comp sucks because everyone is too serious and try-hard!”
“QP sucks because no one tries or takes it seriously!”
And around and around it went haha
I do not type ez. But yeah, I believe qp is not a serious mode and is for fun. I use qp as a warm up for comp or a way to wind down when comp ain’t going well.
I am not countering unless you personally annoy me.
Everything about that statement is wrong and assumes to much about the entire OW player base. If winning is all you care about and not the journey to get there then you are part of the problem. The final score is the thing that has the least meaning.
