Cheating is RAMPANT in OW - especially in Death Match

You atleast believe enough to make posts insisting that you’re telling the truth. You made a public claim, you prove it. Recording a game with one shouldn’t take long.

I’m not sure you actually read anything I posted. I made no claims.

Ran into a few, and even got one on video, but that was 7 months ago.

These days, if i get killed out of nowhere, i let the deathcam run and it’s usually something benign like a camper or someone doing snap shots.

Cool, then you disagree with the OP and there are no hackers.

I often have the recorder running, just post a video of yourself showing it from your perspective and how you’re able to tell, and since i’m always in FFA (or atleast next week when Mystery Deathmatch gets rotated out), i’ll have dozens of them posted.

That’s how i kept posting all those videos in the bug threads.

I honestly don’t take people seriously when they talk about cheats or exploits anymore. Almost none of these people are cheating in the first place.

Second, the system can automatically detect third party software and a mass ban happens (not immediately).

Also, I was told I was exploiting as Mercy one time because I used her bunny hop to get away from an ulting Genji and he got mad saying I was abusing an exploit…

If there were no hackers there would be no reason for a report option for them.
I mean basic logic should tell you this.
Are they rampant? No.

The last thing honest players need is to have oblivious people helping cheaters deny their existence.

The thing is, people can sometimes make shots that look like a hack.

For example, the Necros clip where he does a 180 and his crosshair lands perfectly on the pharah. (I can send this if you want)

And ive also had a couple clips myself that could look kind of suspicious. But it depends on if the person is consistently like that, every shot seems to be something insane.

most propably i got reported for ‘cheating’ with junkrat
for the person that reported me i have got a puzzle to solve

According to this guy

That is a LOT!!!

For an occasional hacker that you sometimes run into by chance, sure.

But someone claiming that one hacker every other game was the norm and that in the last few weeks straight there were 5 hackers in each game is a freaking huge claim and you really can’t take seriously when you’re also a regular in arcade.

You’re going to need something substantial for something like that. If it really is that rampant, post a video of it and explain how you’re able to tell, and i’ll actually help you get more on video.

Again Blizzard has reports to base how “Rampant” cheating actually is.
Threads about it are remotely ever useful. In fact it intices people to post things they really shouldn’t post here, like names of hacks and links to them.

Even the guy claiming he is “testing” cheats. Every cheat he mentioned is obsolete and easily caught by Blizzard, but there is no mention of the new one some clown posted a link to here, about a month ago. (advertising is my guess)

And no I won’t link it, Blizzard has the link that’s all that matters, all the discussion in the world isn’t going to change its existence and claims of how many accounts use it without being caught.

Basically why i only use headsets

I’m used to being called a wallhacker

Yeah, i misjudged the layout and ended up shooting the wall on that last one. Would have gotten him tho. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve noticed an increased amount of “pro widows” in silver-gold last week, also Hanzos who can’t hit anything in range, but do perfect 360 headshots at point blank, makes total sense right?
Reported a bunch of them (didn’t have any other kind of reports I think, maybe one for toxicity and one for inactivity) and got like 4 “thank you for reporting” messages yesterday and the day before too so the system confirmed they were actually cheating.

The thing seems to work as a toggle because I’ve seen Widows dropping to 10% accuracy after they have been accused (4 consecutive headshots 3 minutes before, interesting drop in skill I must say).
Something is fishy indeed.

thats why when first COD modern warfare came out i always had ‘silent running’ in my spec.
and hunted for people who believed that they are ‘safe’ - they were not :3

same here - if i play junkrat i must aim my nades BEFORE someone move in the spot - i have to PREDICT

no wonder sometimes it might look suspicious… but i dont mind if some blizzard moderator is looking at my gameplay, checking out if i am not cheating… because all about my gameplay is having fun, but spectator could check real cheater at that time

wondering how many times i have been reported for cheating, when i had no idea on how cheating even looks like untill i saw it on some famous YTube channel that was talking about it

i never cheated in video games, because i have no desire to do that

I’ve been accused of cheating literally dozens of times, even when I’m not playing particularly well. I’ve played OW since open beta, and I’ve run into exactly one person I could say was probably hacking, ever. Seems to me that false accusations of hacking are what’s rampant.

Some people seem to believe that anybody who can do things they can’t (whether that’s tracking, flicking, or predicting enemy movements) is hacking. If OP believes they run into so many hackers, they’re probably just one of those people.

Honestly if you are not authorized by Blizzard to be testing for cheats. What is to keep you from testing cheats to see what doesn’t work and what works to keep your own cheat alive for your main account? I’m not saying you are cheating, but allowing a test bed for anyone not authorized or employed by Blizzard is a mistake on their part.

But Blizzard really doesn’t understand competitive gaming (eg smurf accounts) so carry on I guess.

But they really should ban all your accounts, as you are left to your own self regulation.

I’ve ran into about 4 total hackers in my time in OW as a GM player, but I haven’t seen a hacker since probably S5. It was a Zenyatta first, then a Tracer, then a D.va, and finally a Soldier (why a character who already has an aim not ult, I will never understand). But again, it hasn’t been since the early days of the game.

In every single death match game this Sunday, I ended up reporting up to five people for wall hacking and aim bots, and who knows what else (wall hacking being by far the most common). I would normally see one cheater every other game - but in the last few weeks - it has been multiple upon multiple.

Five cheaters in one death match? Are you serious? After over two years of playing Overwatch on two separate accounts, both currently around level 600, I can’t confidently say I’ve even run into five cheaters overall. You realize how insane you sound, right?

To top it off, I just finished a game where 5 of the players where assisting each other. Protecting a Widow on the tall rock (mercy + widow + rein). Using a Sombra to protect a hanzo + mcree at the large healing box in the center of the map. It was unbelievable…

Also, this is not cheating and has nothing to do with the rest of your post. Those guys were just enjoying the game. You should try it some time.

Thank you, but where at? On this sight or somewhere else?

I can’t say I have ever seen 5 cheaters in one match. However, I have seen a fair share of aimbotters.
The best test is when i used junkrat’s tire to climb a wall and pop out behind them. The tire is silent when wall climbing or in the air. So for them to do a 180 and shoot it is almost a guarantee that they are aimbotting.

I’ve got about 1000 hours in overwatch and only seen a few actual for sure aimbotters.
I also used to grind in FFA all day while sipping coffee.
During that time I was constantly accused of aimbotting with Hanzo, but in reality after playing the same small maps over and over you begin to be able to predict where everyone is coming from.
Eventually your reflexes kick in and bam! you can headshot someone before they come around the corner.
As others had said, people who pay close attention to the audible footsteps can easily predict your pattern.

It is not a valid argument. Can you prove you never have unicorns in your sock drawer?
