So, I’ve been noticing things like my tracer bomb and sombra viruses were not landing. At first I was thinking that i was just plain sucking, but it felt weird, because i was sure that should have hit. Then i was thinking something is up with the game or my PC.
The more ive played this holiday break, the more im convinced it is some type of hack.
The link ive shared is of a fight (if you want to call it that, we were getting hammered). I hacked the roadhod, i lead him in the direction he was going, i hit the apply the virus when my aim was just around his left arm pit, my screen moves quickly to my left (opposite direction he was going), then there is a quick snap/jerk back to his shoulder.
Maybe its just me and without audio its hard to tell when i applied the virus, i know. But i watched the replay video a few times, then slowed it down. It was immediately when i pressed shift,my screen ran to the opposite direction the hog was going.
We all know blizz isnt going to do anything about the hackers. But i thought id share my latest experience.

Now the hacks give your enemies anti-aimbot?! The cheaters can’t be stopped!!
Seriously, are you really gonna believe this?
If youre so sure, get some software to record/show your inputs, and compare them with the gameplay.

Ironic…I JUST got done reading another article about how Call of Duty’s Black Ops 6 and Warzone are a cheater’s paradise and Activision is too slow to respond to it. I load up the OW forums, and THIS is what comes up first in my recommended threads.
I’m not sure whether I should laugh or be concerned. As in, laugh at the fact ActiBlizz has another hack/cheat crisis on their hands - just several short months after every FPS on the market in Summer 2024 dealt with one - or be concerned that the over/under on the “How long til cheaters test the anti-cheat measures present in everyone’s newest favorite shooter game, MR” might be lower than I expected.
I have had similar things happen to me. Usually it’s my mouse becoming a brick or feather during crucial moments for a second or two, while not being affected by stuns or anything game mechanics related. Sometimes firing stops for no reason and sometimes it feels as if my aim is being juked a bit to near miss. My mouse only acts weird in OW2.
There are many other unexplained interferences like damage or headshots not registering, very apparent when playing snipers, I see myself making perfect headshots only for them to register as bodyshots or I can shoot way off and it registers as a clean headshot for no reason. Damage not registering or being toned is often felt when playing high damage dps or tanks. I have too many instances to count when beaming squishies with zarya at 100% charge who are not being healed yet killing them takes 3-5s and other instances where i have like 70-80% and they evaporate in ~1-2s without discords, nades etc.
It is hard to say if everything is caused just by cheaters, while this game is absolutely loaded to the brim with cheaters I think what happens in games is often a mix between cheater shenanigans and actual ingame rigging by adaptive algorhitms to control forced wins and loses to maximize player engagement/retention.
Though it is absolutely possible that cheats have advanced enough to have additional anti-aim measures. Some hacks give cheaters way too much power like I have had cheaters lag out and crash my games entirely as well as DC me or my teammates from the game to force a 4v5.

I would have 100% accuracy if it weren’t for those damn hacks making me miss shots!
They are not getting banned at all. Blizzard is just bad as Microsoft who bought them. With unlimited funds they should be rid of all cheats in all their multiplayer games period, no excuses at all.
When I was back at good Halo 3 days at Pro level it was never ever cheaters there, in quick play, SWAT, ranked matchmaking or tournaments.

Breaking news!
Video Game cheaters are now defying physics remotely by changing the mass of an object to make local whining boy miss a shot.
Yes, these megacorps have more than enough money to fix the cheater problem 100x over. There are no excuses. We are in the age of AI after all, with all their resources how hard would it be to create an AI based anticheat?
But knowing corporate greed they would probably rather put AI machine learning bots in games to mimick player behaviour to further control match outcome, maximize player engagement and therefore profits. Why would they even bother to fight cheaters if they can just develop cheats for their own games or take a sizeable cut from other cheat developers since it’s probably more profitable long term than suing them.
Somewhat off-topic, but Activision has already datamined and profiled their players who played previous COD games. Things overall are not looking bright in the future of multiplayer gaming.

Those are the best cheats. Not the ones that make the user better, but ones that subtly change outcomes to piss off their opponents.

Dude this exactly. It’s like a hack that messes up your aim. I have encountered this more than once and it’s really disorienting. I think I would group them with dodge hacks. But yes the way it jars your screen like your slipping in aiming is truly insidious.
