there is some sort of barrier to be able to get into comp in the form of wins or games played.

So what’s the reason for cheaters in Classic or Junkenstein or Low Gravity modes? Are they also trying to meet ranked criteria? I saw all of them

Cheaters everywhere are sad.

There’s so much more cheating than people know. It’s usually not someone going 25-2 and having high headshot accuracy. They instead fly under the radar and only flick on the cheat when they need it. For snipers it’s when you dive them, for hitscan it’s when a teamfight is about to be lost.

Try diving a Widow and count how often she suddenly gimbals into a headshot on you, and in replay she goes back to being unable to score hits on stationary targets. I see this also with Hanzo and Ana, who instantly start aim tracking you with a headshot or dart if you get close to them from high ground.

With hitscan, they flick on their aimbot just when they are about to lose a team fight, then they go back to having average aim.

Check for those two cases in replay and you’d be surprised how often this happens. Easily half the time I bother to check, I see it.

This.

They also don’t always aim for the head. An aimbot can also just aim for any part of the hitbox. They also don’t just work on hitscan. Hanzo used to be the #1 hacked hero until they neutered him.

Likewise they’re not always using an aimbot and can be using client side hacks like ESP/Walls which you won’t be able to easily detect as a player.

The advantage of having a permanent widow ultimate active on your screen that shows enemy cooldowns and ultimate charge is immense.
Try playing Sombra or genji and magically watch how many people prefire you. You’ll be awakened to how many cheaters there are.

It’s definitely sad.

Sad, insecure people in need of validation. Many of them are toxic in match chat on top of it. They want to believe they’re the best and live out some power fantasy.

OW2 going f2p is one of the worst decisions ever in the game. Smurfs, cheaters, and massively toxic people are basically just free to keep ruining the game for everyone else.

cheaters in video games are plentiful just like professional sports players using steroids.

Everyone wants a cheep and ez shortcut without having to learn to condition or practice, just to feel better about themselves.

Its just when game companies aren’t actively patrolling their games. That things like this get out of hand.
