Cheaters in every game

how are there so many cheaters in this game? i dont understand. i play on two accounts, one is 3kish other is 3.3kish. i run into the cheaters every other match (sometimes back to back matches which is what prompted me to post this) on both accounts. im usually the only one on my team to realize this in most cases. it could be more difficult to tell on different roles but as i mainly play dps its quite clear. doesnt take too much time before i tell myself “this guy actually isnt missing a shot, lets check the kill cam” and my suspicions get confirmed. the kill cams only show a few seconds tho so i always go and watch the replays to see for certain before i report.

ive been running into cheaters frequently for quite sometime. after most reports id get a notification that action was taken via my report and it wouldnt bother me as much because i knew theyd get banned. but lately i stopped getting those and people havent stopped cheating. i think also this contributes to a lot of the people in lower ranks complaining about smurfs as well. when they see someone popping off on a fresh account i think it gets a marked in the smurf column. when in reality its a cheater on a fresh account because what you do when your account gets suspended for cheating, just get a new one.

im ALWAYS the only one on my team who notices it as well. i now only mention it at the end of the match ill throw a "xyz is cheating pls report" in team chat. i started doing this for two reasons, one of which is extremely disappointing. the first reason is that there was always someone who didnt agree with me just for the sake of arguing. the other reason is that no one actually cares. it blows my mind. my brain cannot comprehend why no one cares. one person ruing the game for 11 others and they could not care less. its actually just as frustrating as the cheaters themselves. rock and a hard place i guess...

Would you mind sharing few examples in replay codes? Dont mention names, just what they played.

You realise instead of watching kill cams you can watch the whole game from their pov in replays under career profile… so many people are adamant someone never misses a shot until you make them watch the other person and they realise they were just playing meh

Modern Aimbots can be calibrated to miss shots. So you can still have an aimbotter, but they can also have less than 30% accuracy. Most aimbots are not hardlocking to heads or body, but act more like an aim-assist and soft track, micro lock/snap, edge track, etc.

So watching a whole replay is not always necessary but to give those defending that there is less to no cheaters in the game validation for smoke screening.

Most cheaters I find are amateurs that dont bother setting them up properly so their crosshairs bounce like crazy because its set to hitscan and they are using a melee or projectile hero. Love watching those types of cheaters play Junkrat, Pharah, Rein, Brig, Sigma, Ana and Baptise. Really obvious on those heroes.

Ive always wondered how aimbotting works with projectiles vs hitscan

For projectiles it tries to predict the movement of the “target” so it can hit it with the travel time. Not sure how it necessarily does that though since someone could just change direction.

weve done this dance before. You know ive provided proof before.

Aimbots on projectile Heroes act like an aim-assist and aim ahead of the targets. Pharah and Junkrats are harder to spot at long distance because you cant see it until they get into medium to close range, when it starts to rapidly bob/shake (junkrat) or start snapping/bobbing downward to the enemies feet.

Hitscans utilize hundreds combinations based on roughly a dozen different aimbot styles. Take your pick.

You can bring as many proofs as you want, there will always be deniers, just played a match with 2 hard-locking bots, POTG replay confirmed (4 locks to targets under 1 second) and yet people denied it (and it was a Pharah).

Honestly I can’t understand why so many are reluctant to address the issue or at least recognize it.

for sure. all of these matches have at least one instance in which there is no way a human person actually aims in a particular fashion imo.

all 3 of these matches are played consecutively all within an hour. back to back to back.

QTV7VY - mccree
GMA5S2 - tracer
8M3GEN - widow (there are multiple cheaters in this match imo)

Ok thx, i will be able to check it in like 10 hours.

100% agree. i just dont understand why blizzard does nothing or why most players dont care. like it ruins the game hello??? i run into same kind of cheats as well. crosshairs snapping constantly to any enemy and or deployable around the reticle…it is quite humorous though when ball ults.

the last replay code in my previous response there is a gold border cheating as well as a fresh account cheater. over 1k+ hrs of competitive gameplay…cheating lol. how is that even possible??? i really wish there was an explanation on why there is so many or why they cant catch them? or something idk tbh.

I’ve definitely noticed more cheaters lately, but that might also be because I play a lot more now than I used to. However every single time I got one and reported them, I got the cheater report feedback the next day without fail. Mid plat to low diamond SR.

I’ve also noticed most people in plat fail to understand the concept of toggle and that aimbot doesn’t necessarily mean 100% accuracy. Cheaters will miss shots, both intentionally and not, only to press a hotkey to toggle the aim when they need to. There’s also cheats very difficult to spot for someone who hasn’t looked into how intricate and subtle cheats can be. Just because they weren’t snapping on heads in their PotG doesn’t mean they weren’t cheating.

yea 100% agree. i used to receive notification of action but now i dont anymore idk what happened. and yea i play 3k-3.3k and people dont recognize it whatsoever just because its not a good cheat. a cheat that earns you 3.2k peak sr is a pretty bad cheat lol. but a cheat nonetheless

Mine are 100% successful so far.

I’d argue that the harder it is to notice the better the cheat, or the better the cheater is at using it without being noticed. There’s very subtle cheats out there that just give you a slight edge. Cheats in Overwatch are also less of a win condition than in other FPS games like CS:GO due to the game not relying strictly on mechanics and aim. A cheater can be relatively easily outplayed in this game.

You don’t know how long the player has been cheating and how good they are at utilizing their cheats. If they just use aimbot but still play like a monkey they just get shut down regardless. I takes more than a cheat to get to GM.

I feel like this video fits here well

If that McCree is hacking, he needs to do a better job :stuck_out_tongue:

This statement doesnt really make any sense as blizzard is banning every year like tens of thousands cheaters.

There’s also a lot of Korean cheater playing in South East Asia server. They change region from Asia to America and end up in Singapore server (bcs korean can be sent to jail if caught cheating in video games). Like theres 40% chance of meeting Korean cheater in master++ game.

the worst kind of cheat is making enemy DC like this
replay: B9DFZZ (look at soldier afk at 11:50 just to make me disconnect)

I just found the same exact cheat on youtube
just type “overwatch ddos” and open “the mango slice” video.
theres a player afk for like 5-10sec until enemy dc, then comeback again.

they just create a new account and get back at it
