ChatGPT bots in game

Had a weird experience where I accused 2 of my teammate of being ChatGPT bots. and out of nowhere, one person on the enemy team says “imagine thinking its not your fault for queuing up with chatgpt bots”. meaning the idea is not simply my perspective. More people think there are tons of chatgpt bots in the game. Not saying theyre put there by blizzard but, anyone think this way

Was this a response to what you said in all chat? I don’t think they’re saying what you think they’re saying. They’re saying you queued with bots.

I just asked ChatGPT to respond to this post:

As an AI language model, I don’t have personal opinions, but I can provide some insights on your experience. It is not uncommon for people to perceive other players as bots, especially if they exhibit repetitive behavior or have generic usernames. However, it is important to remember that these players are real people, and accusations can be hurtful and baseless.

Regarding the idea of ChatGPT bots in the game, it is unlikely that Blizzard would implement AI bots in place of human players without disclosing it. It is possible that some players may be using AI chatbots to automate certain tasks, but this would not affect their gameplay skills. Ultimately, it is important to approach the game with a positive attitude and treat other players with respect, regardless of their perceived skill level or identity.

Your teammate was jokingly mocking you for being toxic.

Also, ChatGPT is a language model AI. It doesn’t play FPS games.

What is a chatgpt bot? You realize chatgpt doesn’t play video games, right? Are you just trying to say there are bots in your games?

There is an AI called openAI Five, that beat a professional dota 2 team a while back though.

There are no ChatGPT bots in the games. ChatGPT doesn’t work like that and cannot play video games. ChatGPT is a chatbot. It only chats.

People have really weird ideas what different AIs are capable of and what they really are. They are NOT sapient, or even vaguely, kind of close. They get called AI, but that is kind of misleading. They are not actually intelligent. They are built to do a very specific function. They cannot reason. And they cannot do anything outside of that function.

I think my microwave is playing Overwatch. Should I be concerned?

this thread is incredibly confusing

Well I mean technically they have events like chat plays pokemon or chat plays x game. If you put GPTChat in that chat room it would be playing a game. Can’t see how it would work for Overwatch, but might be possible.

But are you a chatgpt bot using chatgpt to answer to that user.

Your post count looks suspicious for a human.
That other fellow with generic name too 50k posts.

Rocket league has AI bots developed that can actually play like a user account.

Though it you do in comp you will be banned

But there are lan tournaments for bots like they do with real robots.

Not with that attitude it doesn’t

Weirdly enough there has been research into trying to get it to do so.

not FPS games though, but turn based.

Worse yet, that other person with a generic name has “robot” in the name, and uses AI in his day to day job.

VERY suspicious if you ask me.

Actually weirdly enough it IS related to my posts. Training runs for machine learning take a VERY long time, and I spend time posting while I wait

Ya very sus

.

haha

There has? That sounds weird to me, considering that the same people that created chatGPT, have AI DESIGNED to play games. It’s not chatgpt though…

I think maybe you just don’t know what you’re talking about :stuck_out_tongue:

There have been entire classes of games built using GTP engines.

But along with people trying to get GTP to code (and honestly, it is pretty good), they have got it playing board games and the like, some online.

They also have been using it for NPCs in TTRPGs.

Basically once you have something like GTP, you do spend a lot of time just playing around with what it can do.

Especially since you can now run quite large models on cpu’s now, sure they are slow as hell, but you can do quite a lot with that.

Yes, it already does all these things. I don’t know what “research trying to get it to do so,” you are referring to.

At any rate, my point was it doesn’t play OW.

People are trying to find a good way to get it wired into things like foundry for pf2e games. That is ongoing developement.

Yeah, it VERY much doesn’t play OW - which is why I laughed so much at looking at OPs comment.

I am sure you also had a chuckle.

At least I am not launching skynet. (no idea where that idea come from  )

I accused my teammates in Team chat. Teammate says in game chat “My dps is complaining”. Opponent says “imagine being ranked with ChatGPT and then thinking it’s not your fault”. Here is a screenshot i took i was so taken aback . I thought I was a conspiracy theorist but I think theyre among us.

I know chatGPT cant play overwatch but I mean somebody connected bots to ChatGPT being able to chat so you don’t think theyre bots. The amount of “botty responses” ive seen is distressing.

Oh my god, two different people having the same idea, never happened before.

It was made by a chatgpt bot lol
