Characters on the main screen can't load or the game itself

There was a problem on the PTR,
In short you couldn’t load the main characters/screen therefor you couldn’t enter any games and if you waited it would never load me and other people tried to fix this but couldn’t now that problem is on the live servers and i cant play the game at all now.

Yes!!! They are blaming it on PCs not meeting minimum system requirements. This is discussed here: Problem with load of the client - #17 by Kaedi-11739 .

If i could play the game before why cant i now?

If you wish upload a DxDiag file, but the trend is pointing at systems running Pentium or Duo Core processors which do not meet the minimum system requirement:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type DxDiag and press Enter.
  3. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
  4. Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save.
  5. Open the file in Windows Notepad, then press Ctrl+A to select all text, then Ctrl+C to copy all text to the clipboard.
  6. Start a new reply, and type two sets of four squiggly lines and then place the cursor in between and press Ctrl+V to paste the Contents in a code block. Example:

Paste your DxDiag File Here

I don’t know. That’s why we’re trying to get them to fix this ****, cause this is clearly a bug, and not just blame it on a users PC. Join us in the topic I mentioned above.

that is bu*****t if you ask me, because i could play the game before and everybody could now from THIS specific patch people cant load the game?
That is a bug that they have to fix or the optimization of the character is bad.

I am also having issues, and I also have a below min requirement CPU. I am not sure that this is the issue, but if you look in the thread, just about everyone having an issue IS running a pretty old CPU. When I load the client, I have always had a long period of time before loading and game starting (a few minutes) at which point my CPU is running at 99% the whole time. I believe that the CPU launches the game and then the GPU is responsible for actually running it, as my game works great once it is loaded.

I think it’s a dumb thing to patch, but as of now, it seems like the people that have issues are all running sub optimal CPUs.

Yes, and you might be right. Game launch time did not change for me. It’s just that the game is not working as expected. Characters are not loading neither in the gallery nor in the background in the homescreen, and when I try to load a game (like QP or practice range, etc.) the map just infinitely loads, and then after 2 mins I’m getting a message that I’m gonna be kicked for being idle but I can’t do anything since the map keeps loading infinitely and so on.

For some reason, I think there are currently two different issues. Some people can’t start the game, cause it’s taking like 30 minutes for overwatch to launch, they click on “Play” in their Blizzard app and nothing happens, but after 30 mins overwatch is getting launched. And some people, like me, don’t have issues with launching the game itself, but have issues with characters and other models not being loaded properly.

i have above minimum requirements, and i’m still having this problem, so for now i cant play the game…

Blizzard, if you want to get rid of whoever is below minimum requirements well done.
Best company ever

It is a bug no one from the overwatch devs said that the problem is under minimum cpus it is just some random guy.
