Character new looks-Thoughts and Expectations

So with every ow character getting a redesign, what do you think the rest of the unrevealed skins will look like?
Heres one guess ,Pharah will look like one of her old concept art where she had long long hair. Like the image below

Definitely not, or at least, they won’t have her without the helmet.

The redesigns aren’t actually redesigns though.

They’re little more than time progressed skins.

If you look at the before/after looks you’ll see the profiles are near exactly the same.

The art style didn’t change, they simply updated the heroes’ costumes.

Looking at the current designs I am very worried about d.va’s look.

Mostly. But compare OW1 Tracer with OW2 Tracer. They finally realized that a woman who spends the bulk of her time running at breakneck speeds would probably have some sort of muscle tone on her legs.

The base dimensions are identical though. She only looks like she has more tone, but it’s just the way the skin looks. I think GamesRadar actually has comparisons up for you to see. If you overlay them you’ll see they’re identical in terms of silhouette.

The new Tracer is little more than a skin on top of the original hero’s proportions much like an event skin would do.

The new outfit designs are more grounded and logical. The OW1 skins are often mostly assemblages of cool bits and pieces arranged in whatever way the artist wanted them in order to create lines. The OW2 skins look more like they’re made out of real-world materials held together in real-world ways (buckles and straps and such). There’s a very different, or at least evolved, creative mindset to the OW2 skins.

Personally I’m neutral on them. I like the new ones, but not really more or less than the old ones. I mean from an artistic standpoint.

Well I think og skins look more simple and less busy but I think I like the new skins too. They are upbeat and colorful. Kinda remind me of fortnite.

Got a link for that? I can’t find it.

It’s actually Gamespot.

But here’s a gif overlay:

You are correct on leg tone btw, but the profile remains identical as well as face and hair shape.

One more thing of note: Genji, Tracer, Winston and Mei all have their new look as well as Rein’s new hairdo and facial hair in the new trailer. That’s all juxtaposed next Mercy, Brig and Echo as we already know them in their current iterations. If the art style was different, they would reflect this as well in order to hide the art style shift better.

Three years and they still haven’t created a clothing-less skin yet for any of the heroes. This could be their chance.

Yes! Bring it for Hog!

If you wanted to go the more fan-servicing route then yes. I was thinking Bastion. What treasures is that heavy metal plating hiding?

They got rid of Riens helmet so who knows.

That would be so badass! but sadly I think long har is not ā€œdoableā€ in Overwatch :frowning: perhaps a nice ponytail though
