I am advising Overwatch to change the name of Reinhardt due to its association with an atrocious act in history. In 1941, Na-zi Germany carried out their secretive plan known as "Aktion Reinhardt", translated to Operation Reinhardt/Operation Reinhard. The plan was to mass murder all of the Polish Jewish people in German-Occupied Poland. Moreover, the Operation was named after Reinhard Heydrich, the organiser of the Final Solution of the Jewish Question. As we come upon eighty-three years since the beginning of the Second World War, we must do what we can to inform the masses of the atrocities, the people involved but to remember the lives lost and not accidentally celebrate the people who were behind the enormities.

I bet if you that if you look into every name in the game you’ll find a bad person or thing associated with each name.
There have been trillions of people on this Earth and it is not hard to find something or someone bad associated with something in history.

Cassidy’s name was based off an actual person, so if Rein’s name was based on an actual person who did some horrible stuff it would make sense, but I’m guessing this person did not know Rein’s full name and just jumped to conclusions.

It does. The letter Z has subsequently been adopted by the Russian army and civilians as a symbol of support for the invasion of Ukraine. Blizzard never had this intent, but most likely removed it due to Zarya being a Russian hero.

Someone explained the Z thing is like a swastika, it is a symbol of something Blizz doesn’t want to be associated with. Like there are some really weird propaganda videos put out by the Russian gov pushing the whole Z as a symbol thing.
Did you know that Soldier 76 is named after the weapons of mass destruction known as “Soldiers”?
They are the main perpetrators of war as they are used to fight against each other by 2 or more opposing factions, they cause each other to bleed, die and ultimately to die.

It was originally painted on Russian tanks to distinguish them from enemy tanks, being short for the Russian word for west. So essentially it means nothing now.

That is actually not true, but it is such a silly point to make. If anyone is interested they can just google “Why is he named Soldier: 76”
there have been many peoples named Reinhardt/Reinhard prior to Reinhard Heydrich making the Holocaust a reality, and crucifying the name because a glory seeking monster in the third reich had it is dumb
for the record, Reinhardt means brave or strong
