“Hey hide my btag, I can’t be recognized by anyone, I don’t want anyone to send me a message”
Like, is this serious? Where are the cameras? is it a prank?
Dude, you’re in the online game, if you don’t want anyone to see you, just DON’T PLAY.
This system will open up an absurd margin for trolls and toxic people to hide behind camouflaged names, BUT LOOK CAREFULLY, a some people who thinks he is famous wants his name not to be visible, it is totally prohibited, he is a very important person and he is not be seen by others oh my god.
I played with someone I follow on social media, and it was one of the best matches, I recognized it because her name appeared on the scoreboard, like it was my dream to play with her. And matchmaking made this happen, but think about it, if her name was hidden because of this system I would never know.
That doesn’t seem like a good solution. Why should someone have to stop playing a game they enjoy because of some weirdos on the internet being unpleasant? It makes more sense to protect that player from weirdos instead, which is what they’re trying to do.
So if someone makes T-bag, will they protect players from this “toxicity” by removing the crouch button? That doesn’t even make sense.
If in Call of Duty characters say swear words, will you protect players from this by removing the swear words and making everything family friendly? In a war game, shooting, massive killing… What’s the logic of that?
In the case of btag hidden in stream mode, what is the person doing that is so bad that they need to hide from everyone?
Same argument for private profiles, unless you’re using aimbot and don’t wanna people see your critical hit accuracy don’t need to be private.
The streamer mode is supposed to be like that, it is extreme and made for people that has stalkers and are stream sniping or waiting to throw games etc.
… but sure, we know so many people will still use it when they really don’t need to, like Private Profiles and sometimes, they will be the ones doing the trolling etc.
In the case of tactical crouching, there’s not really much to be done except give people the tools to report players if they really get so wound up by that. Crouching actually has an impact on the game, so it’s not something that can be tackled easily if it’s a problem.
Swear words are censored by default, so… . It’s not really the end of the world that some stuff gets starred out.
In the case of hiding btags, I’d say you’ve got it backwards. It’s not that the person who wants anonymity is doing anything bad; it’s that other people are being bad towards the person who wants anonymity. This change helps to protect them.
As far as private profiles go, jerks used them to attack players based on playtime and such. If it wasn’t for the jerks it wouldn’t have been necessary, but jerks are out there, doing their thing.
I expect everyone will be using that. May as well be playing with bots for all we know.
it is like the hidden profiles: even if you don’t want to hide it you are pretty much forced to do it since you get all the benefits and none of the drawbacks.
Honestly. Might be worth just showing the names as Player 1 to 5.
The names are irrelevant anyways.
Will also mean if you’re a one trick, the enemy won’t just counter pick out of spawn . People will focus on picking what they think they’re good at instead.
You’re hypocrisy is hilarious. I mean for goodness sake your profile on here is literally private, and i’m betting you’re one of those toxic players that are disadvantaged by streamer mode. Please stop whining about absolutely nothing and continue playing the game like normal, there is nothing harming you when people have the mode on, so stop complaining. Seems like you’re the fragile one here
Every player has a unique ID. By inspecting and decrypting the network packets it is possible to identify the individual regardless of this streamer feature. I will not post links, nor identify, the software that does this or how to decrypt the packets.
Not that I am defending the jerk behavior, but it’s really silly that you can’t see someone’s profile after the match. There’s almost no opportunity to be harassed, and the information you gain for self improvement and just general questions about the people you played with and against is incredibly valuable in my opinion.
Is not private. My profile is always public. You can check in overbuf. This is reason i don’t use private profiles, i wanna track my progress with details.

I just didn’t played recently because i was waiting for my GFN priority plan restore my hours
Maybe if people weren’t total tools and stream sniped the steamers, then this wouldn’t be needed. Stream snipers ruin matches, they ruin tournaments, they are filth. Stream snipers are just as bad as hackers IMHO. Hopefully to use this mode, the streamer should have to register with Blizzard and have a required number of hours as a streamer.
