Changes noone asked for

So, just a vent, but I bought two copies of Ow; the game I purchased twice was taken to a worse format (5v5), which noone asked for. And now there’s not even a way to play the game without perks, which as much as I’m aware, noone asked for. Plus, I don’t know how, but you’ve managed to make the UI even more of a downgrade (definitely from Ow1, and even from the previous version). Plus, the art is worse for the menu screens. Plus, the art department seems like it can’t get enough of making cute-sy, girlie skins, and giving Kiriko five million skins. Now it’s obvious why she’s been broken since the launch of the game.

No perks in DM or Arcade, so i played that a little after hating perks. Im now on the boat to just rerelease the old game, these devs dont know what they are doing. Just give damage damage abilities. But no they give the support damage abilities, because they werent already doing too much, and everyone else even more sustain…

Please give me back overwatch, hell I’ll even deal with double shields, that meta made me quit too, but it was less boring then this overall everything sustains that currently going on.

People did ask for perks, except they were supposed to be called “skills” and the silly devs forgot that they were supposed to add them to PvE, not PvP.

I’m sure they’ll get it sorted out soon.

So a funny thing about game development is that just because a particular solution wasn’t asked for doesn’t mean that the issue that said solution is intended to solve wasn’t complained about.

I’m in the same boat as you, man. I paid for OW1 twice, and I have paid for 14 battle passes. I want to play the game I was playing last week and the 100 weeks before.

I don’t want more damage over time abilities, or more burst healing, or double nano. Those types of things are fun for a little while in their event modes, and that’s where they should be kept.

This basically.

Also:

Mate, with all due respect. Its 2025, you bought those copies … when exactly? I mean I get it that some people don’t like the format changes, specially going F2P but good god, its been 5+ years?.

Cmon now.

I don’t care about going free to play, but I do care that the product that I originally bought and loved was changed and is continually changed. It’s been absolutely butchered.

I don’t think you do mate, the game was changed more than 2 years ago. Pretty sure you didn’t play that much if you are getting angry now but hey, you do you I guess :man_shrugging:

Yeah it’s absolutely shocking.

Yeah it’s the only conclusion. It’s seemed that way for a long while. But they just don’t get it.

I like 5v5 more. I wasn’t asking for it, but maybe I should’ve been.

I can almost guarantee you that if the game was in the state that it was on release, you would not still be playing it.

I’m trying to think of a game that doesn’t update and people still play. Do people still play pong? Maybe, I dunno.

They had a live service game that people loved, that they stopped updating - that’s WHY people stopped playing!!

Why do people have such a Stockholm syndrome over this stuff?!

Agree on this. The perks feel kinda all over the place in terms of design philosophy. It doesn’t feel like there is a common theme or line of thought.

They tried to wow us and make things silly and empowering, which is cool. Mission accomplished.

I just wish there were a clearer methodology.

I never thought there was a chance in hell of them making it into the main mode but I’ve wanted a PvP mode with builds since forever.

Perks need work obviously but not they’re not as gamebreaking as I would have expected and I find em an exciting change. I’m mostly iffy about them choosing to include them in 6v6, I feel like that’s an opportunity for the modes to diverge and have their own identities rather than being in direct competition.

The irony is that perks are much more suitable in Arcade. They would make FFA deathmatch absolutely fantastic!!

I bought Overwatch in 2016. To me, it was ruined the day they added Competitive and took away Torbjorn’s scrap armor

Yeah, perks belong nowhere near competitive at the very least.
