Changed keybind for perk select - Mercy keybinds won't save

I was trying to change the keybind for all heroes for perk select, and it was fine for all heroes EXCEPT mercy. When I tried to change the keybinds for mercy, it wouldn’t save and then it reverted to the default. So all my old custom keybinds got changed back to default. Is there any way to get it to save? Thank you.

Having custom keybinds for Mercy would cause this.

In general, ANY CUSTOM keybind on a per-character basis will disable ALL inheritance from the “All Heroes” settings. So when new features arrive that need keybinds, they really should propagate from “All Heroes” settings page, and “All Heroes” propagating from some default chosen by the devs (if not already used by the player). But instead, sadly, any cascading of all other keybind settings is disabled entirely for that hero. It’s super annoying and ridiculous. It will act as if EACH and EVERY keybinding is individually overriden even if you only override a single unrelated one.

Basically having any custom keybind will break all other keys that have nothing to do it.

Thank you. I got the same issue with Mercy.
I had also customized other heroes, but the bonus selection was working for them. I thought it was a bug.

Are you able to get your custom keybinds for mercy to save? Because my problem now is even when I try to change it, it doesn’t save and changed back to default every time. Thanks!

I could be wrong on this. But in my experience, after a certain patch, if you only changed hero options (for example Mercy prefer facing target) for a hero but not their keybinds, that hero can still keep inheritance from the global keybinds.

Try using “Delete Override” first to realign your Mercy settings with your global settings, and then recreate your Mercy settings from there. I heard some say changing the settings while in main menu can also help.

Be careful though:

1. Before doing this remember your previous Mercy settings or take screenshots.
2. DON’T accidentally click the “Restore All Defaults” button as that will reset ALL of your settings.
