Disclaimer: I am currently at high silver low gold, playing off-meta and just enjoying the game with my friends (i do not troll or throw any of my matches!). I do not claim i am much better at this game or that the MM is punishing me or something like this. The way i play i deserve the rank.
So reading a lot of posts recently i see a lot of people who claim that they always have to “carry” lower skilled teammates.
Let me tell you something: I play CS:GO around LE/LEM in Matchmaking, play ESEA and sometimes Faceit and i still did not manage to climb higher than platin in overwatch in the time i went to try harder.
The reason is simple: If you are not extremly better than all players at your skilllevel you will not be able to consinstently open fights with 2-3 kills while beeing sure you have enough impact even if your team gets shredded by a reaper ult. This game is a TEAMgame. If you are an avarage player in an avarage skilled team that works as a unit, makes calls and picks to counter and play together you will more often than not win matches against unorganized teams that might have 2 players sticking out in mechanical skill.
If you would “carry” every match you would rank up. Probability will put you often enough into matches where you can sway the balance of the match in your favor as you would consistently open fights and have high impact ults that let your team capitalize. Yes there are unwinable matches, but since you are a “carry” you will have to win more often than not.
How would it be, to maybe try and work with your team and communicate. A lot of these posts suggest that supporters of the “carry” idea will instantly tilt if someone picks off-meta. While in plat i saw really good Widows, Hanzos, Torbs, Meis that would instantly get insulted as they did pick their hero!
Do not compromise on your and the team moral by getting tilted and salty in the spawnroom. As it always is: The team who tilits is at a huge disadvantage!
