With all supports being the strongest role in the game, and supports being overpowered, changing their support passive could balance supports.
If the support passive was changed supports would have to go back to the days of OW1 where they had to use precious cooldowns to heal themselves, or rely on their other support to heal them. This would change the entire game and could help bring supports to all be balanced.
Just give supports a weaker and different passive, like maybe temporary boosting some stats of teammates after healing them.

they’ve already said they’re looking into nerfing their sustain and utility, so maybe
The issue people are having with supports isnt the passive. Its a mix of invulns and high dps (per their size, range, and effort). When we had only a few invulnerability options that were not movement based or post reactionary in the game, things were manageable. Same with the damage. as an example: bap was great in bunker comps but the support synergies were not there to overpower dive. Bap’s high healing burst (his e) as well as Kiriko, illari, and lifeweaver’s abilities allow him to be exceedingly oppressive thanks to his damage (which is strong but not frustrating to play against like illari or kiriko). If they want to keep making (new) supports so strong in dps, healing, and mobility then they will have to dumpster the passive to make them punishable unfortunately.
