They need to change it so Doom can’t turn as well during charging of his punch and during seismic slam. It is far too forgiving and I think a big reason people think he is low skill and oppressive. If you are such a great doomfist you should be able to commit to an angle of attack with only a slight ability to turn during each of these. If you are good you can work with that and still get kills.

Imagine if I could do a 90 degree turn anytime I want during a pin as Rein, sounds kind of stupid doesn’t it? You should have to fully commit when you are going to use such powerful abilities. Considering his shotgun is basically better than torbs right click and way more accurate at this point he needs a nerf to increase the skill floor. Right now he has too much freedom with his punch and seismic slam.
If you cancel punch to change direction with bunny hop, you do no dmg, it’s simple mobility. And turning during slam doesn’t make you commit less. It’s just directing your dmg cone.
Following your srein example, you’d have to remove his ability to correct his charge with A or D
I am sorry but seismic slam is just too forgiving, and considering it will hit you if you are just off to the side of it is cheap. I think people should have to have a plan when they use powerful abilities not just be able to do some insane turn in the last second because they didn’t plan it out right. It should have a clamped rotation based on your initial direction.
Seismic slam is already locked into place unless you do the other version of it (eg on rooftops for rollouts) which hasn’t got a specific place to land.
Reinhardt doesn’t charge up his pin so that’s not a good comparison.
Doomfist already has to commit with Rocket Punch. If he misses he’s dead. If the target gets bubbled he’s dead. If he gets hacked or stunned while charging he’s dead. If he cancels it he’s lost his main mobility tool.
This is just another arbitrary nerf thread. He’s been like this since his release. No one called it ‘low skill’ then or 2 months ago. It’s quite they opposite.
People call him low skill now because they don’t like playing against him (or don’t know how to counter).
I have been insta-gibbed by rocket punches that literally had 0 charge up so try again. I actually think Doom was more fair before all the buffs he had and a much higher skilled character. Now the skill floor is just pathetic since his shotgun is basically a super accurate torb shotgun.

Skilled Doomfist or not. If you took away his ability to turn during the charge of his punch he would literally never be able to hit it because people would scoot to the side
It wouldn’t take away his ability to turn, they would clamp how much he can rotate based on his initial direction after committing.
Pretty much anything will kill you from that range when you’re locked into animation with him. And again you’re complaining about him turning around and not commiting enough. And that’s bullsh!t. I guess you don’t know about bunny jumping considering your rank, so I’ll try to explain Slam again.
You look at point A. Then you click E and get locked into jump arc animation. No matter how much you turn, you’re going to end up in the same spot if you would not turn your camera. Only difference is that it allows you to correct your impact cone considering people usually move when see you. Sure, you can turn around during long jump to hide your head hitbox and 180 just before impact but people at 2k don’t do that very often if at all.
Actually people turning in the last second happens constantly. It’s basically the reason seismic slam is cheap, try again.

That is a 0-sense balance choice. Why make a melee-oriented character have restrictions?
What they need to do is seriously tone down that “does too much crap” ability of his that also has a 4 second cooldown. Then he’ll be OK. He’s not OP, but that one ability of his is almost the same as (if not worse than) Brig 1.0 Shield Bash’s BS.
