Yes, to a degree Sombra counters herself just by all the inbuild drawbacks of her kit not allowing her being effective enough to get the job done.
Literally just shooting her cancels her entire kit except EMP, but shooting her puts her under so much pressure that she cant follow up on her own EMP.
Like I said before, if Sombra EMP could be blocked entirely by a premptive Zarya bubble, then they could buff Sombra significantly for things that arenāt her EMP.
Her peak performance is holding back her typical performance levels.
Which peak performance? Sombra doesnt matter currently anywhere.
Currently, but with a meta shift she could become OP in OWL pretty easily.
Honestly I donāt understand the idea that you couldnāt give up a nerf that mostly isnāt useful on ladder anyways, in trade for buffs that are useful at all skill tiers.
Because this dumb thinking like 1step forward 2 steps back is whats keeping her as bad as she is. Thats what the devs did multiple times and it doesnt work. If a hero is underperforming you dont nerf them, its that simple.
It really isnāt that simple.
A poorly balanced Sombra could ruin the entire game for ladder and pro tier.
Itās a lot safer/simpler to keep her trash tier.
