Title pretty much sums it up, but I really want to understand the thought process that is bringing this much CC into the game.
Have the devs ran out of ideas?
“How do we change the meta?”
“Just add CC until half of the roster is twice as hard to play, oh, and make the CC easy to use”.
Mei freeze buff, hack buff, and now, well, the fingerless queen, Brigitte.
Having your character out of your control is not fun, Blizz, and unless the hero really needs it(like McCree or Ana, so they can protect themselves a little), it’s something that should be avoided.
One big streamer tried to play Rein for a round yesterday, without a Zarya. He literally got CC’d 5 times in less than 10 seconds, with nothing he could’ve done to stop it.
If this is the best you can do to change the meta, you need to start trying harder.

Well, it does change the meta. The new meta is simply abandoning all hope of having fun playing main tank. You don’t play to avoid cc or outplay enemy maintank; you play to get inevitably cced in a spot where you won’t die while the same thing happens to your counterpart.

As a veteran to the MOBA genre: I think Overwatch was designed to play-out and feel like a MOBA. In MOBA’s you can potentially get CC chained from 100-0% in any fight that you are out of position… even if you build straight tank. If you are out of position: you’re dead.

so what you’re saying is, playing in the front lines is now out of position for tanks

Change where you tank from. Give ground more often, find high ground, etc…

I know it sucks . But why do you all make it sounds like the stuns are only available in your opponent team? Your team dont have stuns too?
It s like having a gun next to you but using ur knife and then getting shot and saying boo it s unfair.
I agree stun meta is prolly not the most fun meta overwatch had . But use it at your advantage if it s meta and you want to win !

It doesn’t matter if your team has stuns and CC too, that’s beside the point.
The issue is that CC is awful to play against. Nobody wants to NOT play the game when they queue up. There is too much CC from these new heroes. They outclass and outshine our old heroes.
It’s like they were designed with desperation. Like Blizzard ran out of good ideas so they started adding CC abilities as a way to make heroes feel different from eachother.

I’d argue what really killed this game from the get go if anything is a healing class. I just hate the concept. I’d rather everyone just have a larger health pool and let the skill of teamfights come down purely to aim, planning, and positioning. They who do the most damage to the most threatening targets faster and most efficiently win the fight. Get healing out of the equation.

What does CC mean? When they nerf and buff heroes?
cc = close combat. that’s it
oh thanks - also when you say somebody gets cced do you mean like frozen or hit by a doomfist ability?
Mobas also allow you to build cc resistance and defenses against that particular cc heros damage. And besides that I can’t think of a moba hero that can stun you once every 5 seconds with a non skill shot and shut down ults with left click.
Mobas play way differently and beside, which is probably the biggest point to make here, mobas have CC breakers and CC immunizes available to all heroes through items those are really the key features that allows MOBAS to play out the way they do, and also too be fair a big part of what adds depths to these games. Also of further note, blizzard already have one MOBA game, not a very popular one, not a very sucessfull one, but non the less they have already made a MOBA, also there is WoW. Which begs the question? Why try to copy paste these games? Should overwatch not have its own identity? Should it simply not be a really really good FPS game like it once was instead of this BS? You tell me, but i atleast know what version of OW i like best and what i want it to be that is for sure.
I admit sombra, mei, Brigette combined makes tanks unplayable throw reapers broken into that and it’s just impossible. If you are going to buff/make brigette all that give the tanks buffs to accommodate
Nope. CC = Crowd Control. It’s an ability to control the enemy’s position or capability of using abilities.

To me, the biggest problem with most of the additional CC the game has had in the past year is it bypasses too many game elements. Doomfist and Brigitte are both guilty of the same thing in their ability to bypass shielding. And on top of it, individual players are fairly helpless when it comes to getting CC’d, especially main tanks. It’s not even about game balance at that point: it’s that it makes playing certain roles simply not fun (in particular, main tank).
Also, as others have mentioned, it’s silly at this point that CC impacts every character the exact same. Units like main tanks should not be thrown a mile in the air the same way a DPS should without at least a passive or active ability to counter it.
