From my understanding, Cassidy’s Deadeye in OW1 used to charge quite fast but he would take same damage so he dies fast but the dmg does charge quite fast so he can get usually a 2k at least. In OW2, they made him more resilient so he can last longer at the cost of a lower dmg charge rate.
In my opinion, the charge rate of Deadeye is so slow it’s one of the most useless ults in the game, if not the most useless. Can’t get a good flank deadeye or even when you find a good opening in the fight, the charge rate is so slow someone is gonna cc him.
Now with the new universal HP buffs…his ult is dead and freaking useless.
Can we get his glass cannon ult back? At least then, he could kill 1 person at least.
Is it just me that prefers the damage reduction? Sure it charges slower to build a skull but the damage reduction is really useful in certain matchups. Off the top of my head I’d just pop deadeye if a Genji blades you, or a Soldier uses ult, or duelling a Widowmaker at like 70m, or against a Symmetra in your face, or Zarya, or monkey using primal, or Junker Queen who can’t even kill you with 2 point blank headshots and an axe, stuff like that
I don’t think it was ever meant to be a team kill or even a multi kill ult. I feel like the idea of Deadeye, basically an infinite range one shot, gatekeeps it from being quick to charge up and that’s fair.
If it’s too easy to CC him or burst him down I think they could go the route of being even tankier or just reducing the movement speed penalty from 70% to like 40%
I kinda do as well tbh. Its a terrible ult but i feel Cassidys kit has never been about his ult, though i do feel it could maybe use a buff or two. I personally would much rather they buff his lackluster kit rather than the ultimate however.
they should change it to something else
i propose that cassidy whistles and then a stallion comes from the sky and he hops onto it
whilst on the horse the has unlimited ammo and uses a semiautomatic gun like ashes and runs around like those westerns characters
i might just be coping but it would fit the cowboy theme so well instead of his ult being used to reload for FtH
Just buff it so it charges faster based on either distance or LOS. I mean, who should he shoot first? The sniper 50 meters away in the corner of his vision, or the Reaper in his face?
His ult was way worse back then because you died before you could kill anything unless your team protected you. If you didn’t get help then your skull was just a glowing beacon of light for people to shoot at and you just insta died.
In it’s current iteration, it is actually useful and with even the tiniest bit of help you can be borderline immortal during it.
I have had no problem getting multikills with it since the update…
cass should just pull out a second gun and get cdr for every headshot he hits for like 12s instead of screaming his location and getting immediately sniped by a widow in another game
