Card declined on eu.gear.blizzard.com

So i tried typing in my credit card info on the EU blizzard store and complete my payment but it says that my card was declined, i did double check and typed everything in correctly.

Can anyone explain why this happend?

UPDATE EDIT: I tried my dads card and his also got declined.

Do you live in EU? If you live outside the union it’s possible your credit card company thought a foreign transaction was suspicious and declined the charge.

Also has your card expired? Did you enter the CVV? Could be any number of things.

you maxed out your credit

or your credit card company shut your card off

Check with your bank.

Yes i live in the eu, no my card is not expired, yes i entered the cvv correctly.

No i still have money on my card, i can see how much money i have using an app on my phone.

No my company haven’t done that, i can buy stuff from other websites it’s just the blizzard store that this has happened with.

If your card was declined, the only people who can help you is the payment processor. Blizzard is not given any information as to WHY a card is declined, nobody on the payment receiving end ever is, that is private information purely between you and your payment processor. Occasionally, the payment processor will include an exception for lack of funds to their cards, but that is usually it.

Another possibility is pre-paid cards are often rejected by security protocols as they can not actually verify the information.

They removed paypal as an option? What a joke.

All together, or as an option to switch an existing account to? I know paypal makes it extremely hard to set up the ability to create a new payment agreement to replace an existing payment agreement.

contact blizzard support we can’t do much for you! they’re great people and they’ll help you out

Is it a Russian credit card? Or Russian bank? Do you have a daily spending limit? Does your billing address match the billing address on the card EXACTLY? Are the billing and shipping address different? Could be any number of issues, though none that anyone here could help you with unfortunately.

You can’t use paypal on their website tho, that option is gone.

No it’s not

No i don’t

Yeah both are the same.

No

Well if you’ve made sure that everything appears to be in check then the only option for you now is to contact your bank to see if they can give you the reason why your card is being declined on the gear store.

I doubt that Blizzard support can assist when it comes to card declines but I suppose you can try contacting them as well just incase.

I had this happen, my bank though it was “suspicious” so they blocked it until I got in contract with them. It happens.
Give em a call, and they will sort it right out.

Sometimes if there is a lot of reversals when people are buying something the bank can start blocking that thing.

I’m not really sure that Blizzard would have had that many reversals when it comes to buying accounts, but I guess it could happen.

I doubt there’s anything wrong with my bank because this is the first time this has ever happened to me, so i’m pretty sure it has something to do with blizzard?

I don’t understand why they don’t let you pay with paypal

But i will try and contact blizzard later on anyway.

If i was the bank i would also be suspicious of someone trying to buy that ow2 beta scam lol

They can decline specific potentially fraudulent charges. You just have to call your bank’s fraud service to clear the charge then try again. BestBuy was blacklisted by my bank awhile ago due to an increase in real fraud from people buying stuff from them with stolen cards and stuff.

It will be the bank blocking it. It COULD be that Blizzard has had a lot of card reversals happen. Maybe some people have stolen cards, and brought a bunch of OW2 beta accounts which they are selling off.

That would make the banks nervous about transactions of that amount to that account.

Call their fraud number and check if it was caught. My bank blacklisted online BestBuy because of a high number of fraudulent purchases from BestBuy. I was purchasing an rtx 3080 so I almost didn’t get it when they blocked the purchase.

I gotta say, out of all the places to ask, this is not one I would go to first

Why not? He’s a fellow gamer like the rest of us, maybe other fellow gamers have had the same problem? Other’s on here are more than willing to help him out with suggestions, we’re all part of a friendly community.
