waiting till black friday to upgrade my gpu and my monitor.
going for a 1070 ti since i already have a hp pre built since 2015( the gpu is a gtx 745 in the words of xqc is beyond trash for gaming) so i can run the game on epic and a upgrade from 60hz to 144hzm due to me being a plat border in the game i can easily rank up then as dps due to higher refresh rates.
i was going to buy the stuff anyways but i rather just wait and save some extra money and use that to buy something maybe a better headset or whatever.
i know playing the game on epic is horrible but same time i would love to enjoy the game and its peek and see how good it was made.
if i have to i will just go play qp but meh comp is more fun.

You really wont be able to notice much difference lol. Maybe a few shadows here and there and of course the AA, a few slightly better textures and thats about it.

Wouldn’t you want to wait for next year where the rtx 3070 has a real stock?

Look at price history on black friday, you can get easily scammed on bf
Thats true! I forgot about the rain, yeah that does look nice but overwatch is a competitive game at the end of the day. having more shadows and rain distracting the player is more of a downside than a positive one. The shiny butt on widow, its not a big deal. If anyone want to seriously see her butt they can simply head to a certain site for that lol
I have a GTX 1070 and can run the game maxed out with over 150 fps, but I choose the run it on the lowest possible settings. Shooter games just play better with higher FPS. The graphics don’t matter if you constantly die in that Widow dual because the other guy has a better frame rate than you do.
This is indeed the most important reason why you should upgrade to a better PC.

You’ll be at a huge disadvantage
If you actually want a 100% stable 144fps, you can’t run on epic. I have a gtx 1080 and ryzen 5 3600 and I run most stuff on low to keep a stable 144. You can run on epic but you’re going to drop below 120 when there’s a lot going on on screen.
Idk why you’d buy a 1070 right now. Next gen is just around the corner and you’re gonna have a hard time running next gen games without one of the new cards.

I’ll have my PS5 in a couple of weeks and I got a fancy 4k TV with all the fancy features so I’m hoping OW2 will have some performance upgrades to take advantage of the new generation. Much excite.
i have a pre built pc by hp, i can’t have the 3070 its not compatible.
the only upgrade i can make is the 1070 ti
aka i have a hp 750-197c it won’t fit

Rain & other weather effects are enabled with setting Effects Detail to medium & above.
frame rate does not matter once you hit the max.
if you have a 144hz you only see 144 frames.
there is no “higher frames”
why unclocking your fps is so bad cause it over works your gpu aka killing it.
so ya the only diff is visuals and thats it, higher fps does not make you better.
lmao, so you can run the game on max the only down side is the rain and other stuff in the way that can make you distracted.
Hell, I’m running a 1660 with most of the effects and cutesy stuff turned off now just to keep the performance at a peak. I prefer the less is more approach. My previous card was a 980. Both cards can turn 150% render at 144FPS and smooth as butter.
True, if I was running a 1080, 1680, 2080 etc, I could dial up the effects more and get the same results, but why would I clutter the game with the extras? In some ways dialing things back is an advantage… lol Even if I had the latest card I would still have graphic effects dialed back. Simply don’t need all that shiny to play it.
the monitor is to go above 60 fps not 144, the graphics card to run on high settings.
so the 120 is fine its double the 60
But what most people don’t realize, is you can run a higher FPS than your monitor refresh, but its not going to improve anything. You would in fact be better off with the FPS set to match your monitor’s refresh. Not to mention it lightens the load on the GPU considerably.
Think of it this way:
Your car can only go 60, but your engine can rev high enough to go 160. Is your engine going to last at that high rev all the time, despite your car never going faster than 60?
Essentially the same kind of thing. You can unlock the FPS and let it go as fast as the card can process things, but now the card is working at 100% power, using more electricity, producing more heat, running the fans harder, and essentially shortening its lifespan.
Just an FYI.
I would play on low settings, becauce it gives an advantige. Expecially with widow this can help alot and midfights are more clear. But 144hz is very nice, I never go back

Ever since I went that route 60hz seems clunky. Imagine what 200-240 looks like? Eventually I will upgrade. lol But those wanting to run those higher FPS rates need a high end card, just FYI.
if your telling me this i already know this.
