Hello, this is my first post to the forums so I hope I’m doing this right.
Anyways, for months I’ve been looking for a solution to this problem, but I have been unsuccesful. My microphone works perfectly on every other application or game I use (Discord, Skype, LoL ect) expect for the Overwatch voice chat. When I press my push to talk button I can hear that little sound like I can talk but my hero’s picture doesn’t come up in the top left corner and no one can hear me. It used to work before like 6 months ago but then it stopped working. I don’t know what to do anymore so if anyone has any tips on how to fix this please let me know.

Is it just your mic that’s not working? Are you able to see or hear other people speaking in chat? If you can see people speaking but not hear them, this is usually either a driver issue or a software conflict. Programs that will often cause this issue include things like Sonic Studio and Nahimic. If you have either of these we’d want to look into uninstalling them.
If you have an Alienware PC, this tends to be a driver issue and updating the audio drivers should help. I’f recommend posting a DxDiag report as it’ll give us more info to go off of. When posting that, please format it by encasing it in a set of ~~~ like so:

Yes, it’s just my microphone, I can hear everyone else perfcetly. I don’t have either of thoes programs nor do I have an Alienware pc so I’m fine on that I think. Also before I post the DxDiag, just one more question if You don’t mind, do I only have to copy the text in the system infomation box or the whole thing ( DxDiag Notes, DirectX Debug Levels, Display Devices and other stuff) ?
You’ll want to export the DxDiag as a text file. Instructions are in the link on my first post. From there copy and paste the contents of the entire text file into a response on the thread. If you can, please also include info on what audio devices you’re using.
Hi I am having the same problem. I have reinstalled everything and I have ran as admin, My mic works fine in every other program except battlenet and overwatch will not pick it up anymore.
One more thing while you’re at this. You appear to be on a university network. If you use your cellphone as mobile tether or VPN client to connect to a different network, does the problem go away?
