Can't start the game after the new update (01.11.24)

after the latest update, i wasn’t able to start overwatch 2 anymore.

whenever i tried to press play, it says “playing now” but after a few seconds, it still won’t satrt and i can press on play again.
it doesn’t even show me in task manager that the game has opened and reinstalling, repairing the game didn’t help

all drivers are on the latest update

Maybe clear install Windows 24H2 can solve this problem, however, i didn’t got any messages of error after reinstallation newer system.

Yes, I’m experiencing the same issue. I also tried to contact them, but they suggested coming to the forums to discuss it here. They provided some steps to try, but those didn’t work either.

stop giving players bad advice…

it’s a game issue, there is no need to re-install the OS just for a game issue

Hi, I have the exact same problem described by Jan, and my last Overwatch error log is from 2023 (with a different pc), so i doubt that will help.

So I’m not just saying that, I had the exact same problem, it was only fixed by reinstalling the system. I wouldn’t be saying anything if it didn’t work. And you, have you checked out my advice yet that you’re saying that?

I also have the same error.

In fact, the game is launching, and come back to start a few seconds later. The process Overwatch.exe is still present less than a second into the process manager. And there is no error message, nor error file log.

I already tried many things:

  • checked game integrity throw bnet
  • bnet and overwatch removed and re-installed
  • update of windows 11 to 24H2
  • dism and sfc repairing
  • installed onto Steam (just in case, why not?)
  • reinstalled NVidia drivers
  • disabled virus detection software
  • removed any razer software

I managed to open the game, in my case I had to unistall Nvidia Geforce Experience.

I want to buy the ATLA skins and this stupid bug won’t let me play :frowning: This sucks. Everything was running fine until this stupid patch ruined everything. I haven’t been able to play for days and I’m up all night trying a million different things to fix it. BLIZZARD PLEASE FIX IT
