Hello,
I’m currently facing a problem with the resolutions settings in Overwatch. I have a Full HD 60hz monitor that allow me to play at 75Hz using lower resolutions like 1280x1024.
But when I’m switching to lower resolution/higher frame rate I’ve got systematically black borders on top and bottom of the screen and the game image are compressed vertically.
I already tried to set the ratio to 16:10, it looks a bit better but still those ugly borders. I’ve also tried to find some settings in my AMD graphic settings and directly on my monitor but nothing to stretch the game to adjust on screen.
I want to precise that I can use this resolution at this frame rate in windows without any borders.
Thanks in advance for your answers and support.
Have a nice day
Hey, MadTek! Overwatch only supports 16:9, 16:10, and 21:9 aspect ratios. With this being a 5:4 aspect ratio, the black borders are expected. You may be able to try the steps here or the GPU scaling option to stretch the graphics.
Aside from this, there isn’t much that can be done to our knowledge to stretch the graphics for unsupported aspect ratios. Hopefully, anyone else with a similar resolution can comment here on what they’ve been able to try.
Otherwise, this would be good feedback for our developers to include some of the classic aspect ratios like 5:4 or 4:3. If you’d like to provide feedback, the #general-discussion is the place to do so since the developers do not monitor these forums as closely as it’s managed by the technical support team here.
Hello!
Thanks for your support, I already tried to scaling the graphics directly from the AMD Software but I can’t stretch the game in Full panel properly, in facts the result is even worst than before because I got black borders on left/right/top/bottom.
It’s pretty frustrating to face this problem in a big game like this and this looks like it’s intentional from Blizzard to block user from changing the aspect ratio of the game, I have no problem with any of my other games that I can get the best performances of my monitor…
I will send a request by posting in the #general-discussion but obviously I don’t expect much from the developers team, by searching on another forums and thread it seems to be a know problem for years…
This is sad.
Again thank you even if there is no solution for now. Have a good day!
Work for 4:3 monitor if use size in options = 1280x768 and 16:10. But elongated…
