So I played OW1 a ton, basically daily for years.
I bought the watchpoint pack to “make sure” I did what I could to play today.
However, today I noticed the update was “waiting on another installation” - I had to kill the battle.net update process because a hots update obviously was stuck, as it continued after reinstalling battle.net after killing the update.
THEN it finished the hots update within seconds and started updating OW2 finally.
Now, 1 1/2 hours later it is done and whenever I try to log in it shows “in queue: 0 players ahead of you”, and after about a minute or so switches to: “searching for game server… game server connection failed, retrying.”.
This is a joke right?
Pals are playing, streamers are streaming, meanwhile little me, paying customer, is watching your gamba machine spit losses at me on the login?
I had like 1% of my brain high on copium hoping you would not disappoint me today.
Thanks Activision-Blizzard, you did it, AGAIN!
======================================
UPDATE: after 10-15 minutes of the “searching for game server” loop I actually reached the actual queue of 40.000…
So if anyone has the same problem: wait. Eventually the queue will pop up. Thank god we found a fix for this ourselves before this tiny independent developer could reply or fix their servers. I mean imagine the fun we could have if this was a Multi-gazillian-dollar company that had this in the working for actual years. Right? RIGHT?

tons of people have this issue. Just wait, you’ll be in that que multiple times. I lost count how many times it sent me from 0 people to over 30K already after the “server connection failed” error.

Yep, game crashed twice, once when I was already finally at 3k people ahead of me. Been waiting for almost 2 hours, even had a weird anti-cheat message popping up when I was playing Shatterline while in queue for OW2, makes absolutely no sense, not only that I never cheated in my life, I also wasn’t even in the game.
Blizzard never disappoints in disappointing its player base.

Yeah, same issue for me. Long time OW player. Played last couple days of OW1. Server connection failed loop into 30/40k queue loop, never actually connecting.

But then when the queue gets down around 500, it kicks you out with an error. Such BS
Overwatch 2 are apparently getting ddosed, but I don’t know if that is only America, or Europe too but I am in the UK and I keep getting login errors over and over.

I sis that. then I got kicked during my second game and back to the magical 40000 player queue.
Just waited an hour and a half in que. Got in. It Let me play some quick play matches for a few minutes. Disconnected me from them in game. Finally it threw me out completely.
I am going to bed as it is midnight here in Europe. Trying again tomorrow. Things have hopefully calmed down by then.
This happens at every release. Problems logging in at launch. Then after a few days it settles down and everything is fine.

Me too. I’m sitting here in Germany in front of my Xbox for like 2 and a half hours and nothing happens. I rebooted the console three times and even tried to reset my internet router nothing works… After a 5min queue I always get the Login error LC-208 -.- it’s now past midnight and I think I finally will give up. It’s a huge disappointment if not even worse than that…
Played since closed beta ow1 and been trying to get online for over 3 hours. Bought the watchpoint pack as well.
So I hope you get in. Im sick of this sht now.

I understand your issue. I’m in the UK and I couldn’t even get passed the login screen
Its also happening to me but ive been waiting for 6 hours and it wont let me in. Its just turned into “Login Error” . I really want to play this game again. But when it finds a queue it goes through the queue and says the same thing.
UPDATE#2:
I kept waiting, eventually got in and could play. At some point(s) it randomly kicked me out, but reconnecting was way faster (due to it being the middle of the night probably).
And I, also, am playing on the european servers, from germany like Nero.
That being said: I played the (OW2) beta as well and expected “that” experience. I feel however like the controls are WAY smoother and not as “sticky” as they felt in beta. It may either be my mind playing tricks or they actually changed the tick rate from some lowered setting they had in the beta or something? Idk, it just FEELS GOOD.
There, I said it. I am having A LOT of fun playing Overwatch 2. Do I like the monetization/battlepass? Hell no!
Do I like all changes? Hell no!
However, just playing the game is a lot of fun. Maybe the things I don’t like change for the better, but after a few hours of FUN games after years of content deprivation I hope it keeps improving and won’t be a “dying tide” scenario once the initial launch hype ends.
Sounds nice been trying to get in for 6 hours now bought the first game and the preorder for the 2nd money well spent…
Same error here. I didn’t have the patience to wait for more than a minute though. Bugs will be worked out over the next few days. It is what it is.
i am so done… like bruh i tried whe it came out, 10 hours after it came out… and now nearly a whole 24 hours since it came out and they cant solve a ‘ddos’ even thought i dont think its a ddos… cuz blizz is a big company… it doesnt take that long does it???
also just wanted to add that i also got “dissconected” ive got a loop “searching” for a game server and now i have the “sorry, were unable to log you in. please try later”… like biggie i did the sms verification, got the watchpoint pack, played ow1 for quite along time. and i even played the frst beta now… wtf is this bruh

I’m being put in a random queue it seems. First it will say 20k, then I’ll close the game and restart battlenet and then it’ll say 400. It eventually gives an error that says they cannot log me in. I’ll sometimes actually get in, play a game and get disconnected and put right in the back of the line and the errors will start again. Feels like this should have been fixed by now…
Its a hot steaming pile of turd. A never ending cycle of 30,000 in queue, then fail to connect, then back to 30,000 in qeueue. Ever since launch. Theyre all incompetant
