Overwatch 2 not launching right after the latest update. It says “playing now” for a moment then goes back to “play” without opening anything.

Same exact issue here.
EDIT: Got it to launch after adding OW exe as an exclusion to my anti-virus (HitmanPro). It wasn’t an issue until this latest update however - not sure what changed to cause it to be an issue.

Same issue here, i tried to reinstall, repair update, updating my drivers even deleting every Razer file on my pc because someone had the same issue few months ago and it worked after that, but not for me. Idk what Blizzard did again after the Patch from 29.10.24

I have the same problem. Tried everything, searched for updates, scanned+repaired the game, uninstalled the game and repaired it again after updating. Still the same. When I press play it immediately says the game is already running, then defaults back to ‘play’.
edit: and i installed the latest graphic card update

Thank you! This resolved my issue (after two days and nearly 8 hours of testing every solution anyone else was posting)!
This didnt work for me
Short Update: i tried everything possible but it didn’t work. I even installed the game a second time on steam and here’s what worked for me in the end:
Log out of battlenet
close battlenet
restart steam, then start the game.
maybe this will work for you guys, too
