Can't hear or speak in voice chat

I’ve had this problem for about a week, I can enter voice chat just fine but I can’t hear anyone speaking (I don’t even see the icons that show who is speaking) and I can’t turn on mic. I usually have an audio interface plugged in, but I’ve even unplugged it and connected a usb mic directly, but the problem still persists. Any suggestions?

What mics\headsets have you tried? Can you post a DxDiag report? Be sure to list what steps you’ve gone through so far so we don’t repeat them.

i am using home network
i did all of that and it resulted in
remove exclusive mode (accessed voice chat for 1 day)
modify the default mic in mysys.cpi (another case of 1 day voice chat access)
modify the privacy option “win 10” (nothing happened)
adding ports for voice (nothing happened)
disabling spi and adding virtual server inside the router to pass voip (nothing happened)

someone said that it is a problem with my isp for blocking voip but all other game titles are working fine with voice “not blizzard’s”
besides
how could i access voice chat in the first place if the isp blocks it?
"note the 1 day access means i managed to access vc for the WHOLE day
nxt day i am unable to access vc again even if i re-do the option that made me access vc in the first place

i use portforward to attempt to convert my ip to static and put it in the virtual server option in my router,it is redeemed working but i am not sure if the solution is perm. or just like the rest “1 day fix”

Kjgaming,

Let us know if it comes back. If it does, can you run a winMTR to a game server you’re having problems with? We can use that to look for more problems.

i re-tried to use portforward application to re-attempt to forward the ports before testing
an interesting thing that happened was when i was testing i couldnt access vc
but then when i played 2 more games (qp/arcade) i could access vc in them then i couldnt access vc for 2 more games (qp) then i managed to access it from now on untill i played in a custom game

It looks like you’re having a major overload after your connection hits your router. If you check the connection between your router/ISP (Hop 2 in that test) you’ll see you have an average latency of 850 MS. This poor connection persists throughout the whole test. I don’t think it’s actually as bad as the test shows, but you may be running out of bandwidth or your router may be flooded/dying.

Do you have a phone that can be used as a mobile hotspot, or be a USB tether? If so, and you set that up for your PC, do you get a better connection?

If that fixes the voice issue, I think your router or the way it’s talking to your ISP is having problems. You’ll want to show them this test and maybe see if there’s a problem with the box down the street, or see if they can replace your router for you.

well currently
when i connect to vc now it works just fine
but it has these games where it just doesnt connect and forcing me to restart the game in order to fix vc

I’d still test to see if that goes away while playing through a usb hotspot or mobile tether if that is possible for you. Again, it looks like that router may be getting overloaded. It gives us more information if it works correctly while using your phone network.

Well when i joined the game today it didnt work,so i ran the WINMTR test and it showed the issue you talked about
Currently i am unable to use phone data/hotspot for testing,isnt there any other solutions?
I use Billion 2000g as a router if that would help

In that case, your best bet would be to talk with your ISP. It’s possible the router we’re looking at is just mitigating the packets, but if not, you may need to trade your router for a new one. See if you can get the ISP to come out and trade your router or if you can go in and swap it out, if you’re renting it from them. If you are not renting the modem, you may need to see if you have an extra router lying around or a friend with a spare you can test with.
