So will I ever be able to download my digital copy of Origins Edition to my ps5? I bought it from my ps4, and I have friends who are currently able to play it on their ps5 consoles right now. But every time I try to pull it up, its the trial version, and now even thats gone, with no way to find it on the store(even though i payed and bought this). Just trying to make heads or tails of this. Doesn’t seem right that I can’t get any information anywhere.
Did you speak with PlayStation since you purchased from them?
Yes. And they’ve since told me to contact Blizzard. Ive been back and forth twice at least.

The PlayStation store and console UI are all controlled and supported by PlayStation support it’s odd they are referring you back to us unless they are not understanding the issue at hand or due to confusion. This would have been a mistake to refer you to us as we can not see or assist with any PlayStation account or purchasing issues. We provide steps on how to download the game on PS4 Here. If you only see a trial version and not the full game a few things could be occurring:
- This account you are logged into does not own the game. Check your order history and ensure you are logging into the correct PlayStation account that purchased or redeemed the game.
- There was a problem with the order causing it to be refunded or charged back and thus removed access.
If issues continue PlayStation support would need to look into this deeper.

To clarify, my issue isn’t downloading OW on my PS4. My issue is downloading it on my PS5. As my earlier comment says: I own the game, on this account, and I’ve recently gotten a ps5. My other games, that i own with this account, all downloaded fine and I’m able to play them. Overwatch, is the only game that I:
- Can’t download a non trial version for.
- Can’t find on the PS store to even repurchase.
No matter what I do, or what method I try it ends up the same. I even saved my game file into an external Hard drive, brought that hard drive to my ps5, and downloaded Overwatch from it. I pull it up, download my saved data, download the game for an hour, restore any licenses I have, and turn the game on. Its always a trial version, and then im told “The trial is no longer available, buy the game”. So i think “fine, ill spend more money that i dont need to, to buy a game i already own”. Except…
And the circle continues. I contact Sony, they tell me go to the developers, they’re responsible for the game not being available on the ps store. I talk to you guys and here we are.
So im just trying to figure out what the source of my problem is, so that i can just fix it.
