well the archives event isnā€™t a skin, itā€™s an event

btw itā€™s the best event which i would say anyone could look forward to because itā€™s basically what ow2 is

Play these codes in custom games while you wait for it. They are recreations of the Archives missions. Uprising is the closest to the original, followed by Storm Rising and Retribution last:
Retribution: 4AXHJ
Uprising: 4T4XJ
Storm Rising: YGWAV

Then theres these completely original PvE missions created by someone called MaxInk. The first one is a Talon PvE mission in Numbani (Code: GB2TZ):

The second one is defending against a Talon invasion across Watchpoint Gibraltar(W2HEX):

For all of these you can turn them into all heroes mode by going into the custom game settings, clicking ā€œHeroesā€ followed by ā€œHero Rosterā€ and then select ā€œAllā€.

We donā€™t even get new modes anymore and the skins the last time werenā€™t even lore based.

It was my favorite event until the last year.

I love how basic the PvE is, yet itā€™s still the most fun I have in OW.

Canā€™t wait to see talent trees and actual PvE

I am excited for it too, but that event is April the earliest this seems a bit much to be posting about it in only Mid January lol.

Las year Archives event was terrible.
I was hoping it would just be the last year for overwatch and we would have tried ow2 next year.

But apparently itā€™s not the case

Not really. It has some of the worst event skins. I donā€™t like a single of those ā€œloreā€ skins. They started getting somewhat interesting with this 18th century theme last time, but other than that it was total meh. Hope this year theyā€™ve gone more crazy with this different time periods idea and do something like caveman Rein.

And the event gamemodes arenā€™t nearly as fun as the first or second time they show up, even with the few modifiers that got added to them.

Where did you get that idea form? At best, itā€™s gonna start February 3rd and I wonā€™t be surprised if thereā€™s a ā€œchallengeā€ or OWL vault 2 before that.

Yea, cant waitā€¦ at least there, i can get the points for weekly challenges with the 3 arcade lootbox, without having a mental breakdown.
You cant really do that in any other arcade mode.

I would rather go and mindlessly farm 18 retribution normal mode with different heroes each time than go Total Mayhem, 6DPS aka QP classic or Mystery Heroes even once.

I think the Halloween event is better tbh. Better content, and even though it doesnā€™t have all the fancy story missions, those get pretty old when youā€™ve played them for 5 years. The skins are also really hit or miss with archives.

The Lunar New Year falls on Feb 1 this year - the LNY event always starts before the Lunar New Year, usually the Thursday before. So January 27 is very likely.
