So, I’ve played a lot of OW. Bought it at launch, played religiously for a couple of years. Around the time Kaplan left I took an extended break. I’ve been hearing great things lately, so I decided to give the game another shot. But apparently now you cannot communicate with your teammates until you reach endorsement level 2. Overwatch is HUGELY dependent upon teamwork and I cannot use either text or voice chat? This is asinine. I assume its done in an effort to combat toxicity. Well I’ve been playing for several days now and the game is just as toxic now as it ever was. Msoft. PLEASE, let me communicate with my TEAM MATES in this TEAM based arena shooter!

Also, if I remember correctly, the answer was: ‘It isn’t hard to leave endorsement level 2.’

It’s actually quite easy to raise your endorsement rank by endorsing others who generate good stats, and those guys will see endorsements received and typically reciprocate. However, nothing kills endorsement levels faster than leaving games early, so if you can help it, always finish your games so that you do not suffer endorsement decay. Apparently many players are still unaware of this, so they wonder why they can never hit 3+ endorsement levels as a chronic leaver.

I feel you. The number of times I’ve seen this same post on the forums is crazy.
I get it can be frustrating but honestly you don’t really need to type that much. And unless it’s between rounds, typing too much just screws your team anyways cuz then they’re down a person while you’re afk. Most matches all i say is gg and that’s it. Everything else you can basically achieve through pings. And it’s really not that difficult to level up your endorsement, just do your best and you’ll reach level 2 in no time

You can still ping targets. Most folks don’t use chat to make callouts since pings were introduced.

It’s just endorsement level 2. You can maintain it. I maintain level 3. And I leave loads of games. I just lose level 4 instantly.
Yup, the toxicity got out of hand. Theres also a new Ai system that censors text chat when someone says something bad. It works pretty good to be honest, but it misses some words and phrases. Communication with teammates is a privilage now.
Queue as tank (or flex for extra exp) and you will get endorsements
Nah people hate tanks and don’t appreciate them - take healer and actually heal, ez.
I dunno, I remained forever level 4 playing healer. Started flexing and got level 5 for the first time in years.
But endorsement 5 is so easy now - not like originally
That’s because Blizz removed passive endorsement decay. Previously E5’s required a regular endorsement intake to maintain. Now the only thing that takes it away is leaving games early or getting chat banned.
