When there is a leaver on competitive match, cancel immediately the match and ban the leaver for the rest of the season.

And no, we are not going to season ban people for a disconnect one time in a season.

Each game should be personally reviewed by Jeff, only then will comp be “fair”.
I think it would be fair. And i had some technical issues at one point.

How is season banning someone for one singular disconnect even remotely fair?
How do you know most leavers rage quit? What information do you have access to?

Any interruption in connection between the user and blizzard’s server location can result in a disconnect. Most leavers are the result of very short connection drops.

lol, because comp for 98%+ of the SR range is serious business? Oh noes, cried out a low gold player… A leave just cost them a a few SR. I’m sure their climb to GM is now halted for the year!!
look bad stuff happens and people get knocked off line. Leavers don’t hold anyone back from ranking up, they are just annoying. Yet they can’t just not punish a team for it being it opens a real ugly win trading door.
plus people love to act like players are leaving games that are super close, going to win etc. A whole lot of them is a player annoyed at a totally trash team comp getting blown off the map for two stages. It doesn’t make leaving ok but at the same time it’s not snatching away a “win” either. The team was odds are going to lose anyways.

How about we just respond intelligently. Don’t penalize the leaver at all and just reward the winner and move on.
There are so many things players can’t control. Whether the blizzard server screws up and kicks them. A power outage or a random internet disconnect. This ban and suspension system does absolutely nothing. It’s an honest waste of time.
Players don’t like it when random solo q get penalized for people they don’t even know with their Sr.
I don’t like stomping a team with a disadvantage. You are just waiting my time.
Just accept that leavers happen and make changes to the system.
If we’re responding intelligently then you should, perhaps, consider how easily weaponized this would become by the community.
Still better than our current system if the enemy still gets rewarded who cares.
Some people have multiple accounts and leave on purpose I think to counter leavers if someone gets a ban it needs to across all accounts on that isp so that they can’t go and hop on a different account. And they ha e to play 30 QP plays to overturn the ban. If they leave another game it resets.
The devs, for one.

The devs opinion is irrelevant they aren’t playing their game and making them money the players are. Blizzard developer decisions and have been a consistent string of mediocrity from mmr matchmaking to performanced based Sr. The leaver system and balance patches.
Blizzard would have to expend the resources to actually pay attention to players pressing the option that says leave game. They never will.

Well ya they refuse to do anything about the many flaws. Then they do simple things and act like it’s leaps and bounds of goodness but it’s just a waste of time.
