Canadians are getting a huge spike in Latency

Can we get any updates from customer support?

I’m getting this issue as well. Living in Toronto.

Funny thing is going through a VPN fixes it only 30ms latency, it’s definitely a routing issue:

Add me to the list. I’m in toronto, ON and went from latency 40-45 on a regular to 155-165 yesterday. Nothing on my end has changed. Hope they can figure out what’s going on soon as I don’t want to play under such high latency.

toronto - normally 70-80 MS now 283-300 MS

Using Bell in Ontario, getting around 260 ms in game. Now I connect to sae1 as default and it only has 150 ms.

Same problem, playing from NA East (Toronto) and getting put on SAE1 server too starting last night, still going on. I’ve always had issues where the training range would load up on Oceania server on occasion, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen it for competitive MM and custom games.

ISP is Bell. Obviously a routing issue, but not specific to Bell.

Getting put from ord1 into sae1 starting last night. My roommate is having the same issue.

Wet, more people that post means the more blizzard will pay attention to something they didn’t think was a problem. Their buddy nicole told me so ;D (nicole is someone that helps blizzard with the forums and she is nutty)

Add me to the list of impacted Canadian players. I was playing Mystery Heroes with a friend last night. Played four rounds just fine, then between the fourth and fifth matches, at about 11PM CST according to chat logs, my latency went from 80ms up to 300ms. I tried multiple things to fix it such as rebooting my connection, but my latency has consistently stayed between 200ms and 300ms. I even tried connecting to a European server to see if it was a problem with NA servers, but my latency there was 400ms - again about triple what it should be.

Seventeen hours later, my latency still hasn’t improved.

I live in Maine, about two hours from the Canadian border. I’m all plugged into ethernet and I get about 50-55ms for latency. Since yesterday, I’ve been consistently getting 250+ms for latency. It’s 100% not on my end, as I’ve never had an issue with it in the past, and am only having this issue as far as Overwatch goes.

Having the same issues as those above, normally get 40ms latency in Overwatch, now getting between 150 and 200ms, sometimes higher.

MTR while connected to SAEL in Overwatch.

From Ontario Canada, just outside the GTA. I generally get 30ping and have been getting 150+ since yesterday. End up on South American servers.

Did not notice at first as typical Comp/no one speaks, but my aim seemed way off for 2 games. 3rd game everyone was speaking Spanish and I continued to ask locations of players each new game, constantly South America.

I come from Quebec, (so sorry for my english…) but I have the same problem here since yesterday late night … My better ping was 160. When I did a ping test, I obtain 30 ms, so I really think that overwatch have a problem with their servers. I have 65 contacts and bizzarely, no one play overwatch now…

same here. East Coast US player, usually get 20-30 ms on the ORD1 server, lately I’ve been connecting to the South American servers, and getting 150 ms, and when I’m actually on the ORD1 server, I get 220 ms. Please hotfix this, I can’t play comp and there are 4 days left in the season

I have been matched with Brazilians in comp and it is really annoying because I get around 180 ms. I have lost about 200 sr because of this. I started at 3900 and am now at 3690.

Same here, I noticed it yesterday.

Coming here to add to this that yep, also Canadian, Bell, and I’m being connected to South American/Brazilian servers. I don’t have this issue anywhere else but Overwatch, and it’s very frustrating to try and play this game with my friends because they’re not experiencing the same problem as I am.

Edit: Forgot to mention, experienced this at 2 am last night after having super normal ping all day yesterday, and am experiencing this again today.

another Canadian effected, live outside of Toronto and Bell Canada is my ISP, went from the usual 40ms to 60ms ping to 200ms ping did a traceroute and I’m going from Toronto > Ashburn > Spain > Chile.

Another Blizzard game I play is effected as well which is WoW, I play on EU WoW with a friend and on there I went from 140ms to 400ms ping and the route on there is Toronto > Vancouver > Seattle > Palo Alto > Sydney Australia > France.

Talked to my ISP through a online agent and they are blaming Blizzard for the routing.
