Canadian (quebec) player put outside of NA Servers

I’m canadian and found myself playing on Koren servers with 300 ping. I usually get put in NA lobbys with 40ms no more or less. This has happened and it happened three times to my friend since we played this week and he was also put on servers based in mexico.

Also everytime we try out practice range we have 300ms, then we find a match and we are at 40 ms at how it should be.

What is happening really, I had a terrible game where my teamates were cursing at me in korean and saying the f word to me in english.

I am not using a vpn and every external app on my computer were running fine such as discord with 20ms, this is impossible for the problem to be on my end, I would like blizzard to investigate this issue and will be willing to provide more information if necessary.

There are no Overwatch 2 servers in Mexico.

The practice range relies on deprioritized servers, so ping can be unstable there.

Are you certain that you don’t have antivirus or security software that also applies a VPN or some sort of connection optimization? It is incredibly unlikely to land on SEA servers connecting from North America without outside interference.

I wouldn’t know if there are mexicans servers or not but he ended up playing with spanish players is what he told so maybe spain? (Again no clue if there are any servers in spain or near)

Ive been playing overwatch 2 for 2 years and never had any issues with the practice range until now.

I have nothing but Windows Security on my computer, And I would defenitly know if I was on a VPN and again, no other program on my computer had any problem with networking so really idk what happened. I took some screenshots of my game and the chat and no one would respond to me in english so I joined vc and they were talking korean.

thank you for your input

Is the problem still ongoing? If so, then you’ll want to either try an alternative network or a VPN for a different route. Sometimes ISPs are not great at routing traffic, but it usually clears up in a few days or a week.
