Just Curious, plus I like Talking and Rage Bait is starting to get Stale.

(it’s not Bait, it’s Valid Criticism, but People don’t like when I Call their OP Main OP.)

I can, I Test Myself sometimes and I’ve Developed a Method for doing so. Yes, that is sad, have a Cookie.

like their hero name? not really hard if its your main game. (for years)

real names? (like Lena oxton for tracer) thats gonna be much harder.

i also like to identify heroes by their sounds like foot steps, guns, ability sound cues, voice.

which i feel pretty confident at telling which audio belongs to which hero.

Good Point, I could probably name them all off if I had a list of Pictures, but I wouldn’t be able to Spell some of them. No Idea what Mauga’s or Illari’s are.

Gawd Damn.

I could Identify Maps by their Theme Songs when Listening to the Overwatch Playlists, but that’s not as good when Athena Shouts their Map Names at the Start of Every Game.

thats not to bad, i think i would struggle with the sounds alone for naming maps, can you differentiate between the 3 controll sub maps? that always feels way to hard to Predict.
i could maybe say its illios but not that its ruins.

Ugh, dps. There’s no way. Ashe, Widow, Hanzo, Cass, Symm, Tracer, Genji, Sombra, Pharah, Junkrat, Reaper, Mei, Bastion, I’m missing five or six?! Soldier, Canadian Railgun,

Moira, Mercy, Brig, Lucio, Zen, Lifeweaver, Illari, Ana, Bap

I guess I’m missing 3? Must be dps…Echo…Kiriko! You can tell I mostly only played OW1…who are the last two…

I give up. I’m going to go have drinks to comfort myself in failure.

Edit: It was Torb and Doom! Rolly is never going to forgive me now.

Wait, do the Sub Maps have their Own Themes? :skull:

I can Name them off from the Pictures, but if they have Different Themes, then no Clue.

I just Remember the 5 Original Tanks and Name the 7 Release Tanks in Order, then I do the 3 Release Supports and their 7 Releases in Order, then I do the 17 DPS in Pairs, with Symmetra on her own.

So Reinhardt, Zarya, Roadhog, D.Va, Winston, Orisa, Doomfist, Wrecking Ball, Sigma, Junker Queen, Ramattra and Mauga.

Mercy, Lucio, Zenyatta, Ana, Moira, Brigitte, Baptiste, Kiriko, Lifeweaver, Illari.

Widowmaker, Reaper, Sombra and Junkrat (Villians, I used to Include Doomfist but he’s a Tank now), Soldier: 76 and Sojourn (Boring Super-Soldiers), Hanzo and Genji (Obviously), Pharah and Echo (Flyers), Tracer and Mei (Remaining Good Guys), Torbjorn and Bastion (A man and his Pet Dog or something), Cassidy and Ashe (Cowboys) and Symmetra (Forever Alone).

It also Helped that I could go back and Count how Many Heroes I have here, else I’d have to use my Fingers.

How do you pair them up? I was trying to do them vaguely in roles–long distance, flanker, throw pick, and ones I don’t really like.

Ahh, I see. Yeah those are good groups. That makes sense. Very mnemonic. It’s funny that we both have Soldier and Sojourn in the same group.

Heroes? Yeah, if you give me time to think, and I can count them.
Maps? Hell no. Impossible at this point with rotations and maps being removed like 2CP.

If I Memorized how Many Maps there were in Each Game-Mode I probably could.

Yes that definitely would be a big help. Also I have kind of a visual memory that gets sort of “refreshed” everytime I press H at spawn or when I have to select a hero. That doesnt happen with maps, I dont see them displayed anywhere :slightly_frowning_face:

never checked, I swear. And I have a precise method for remembering them precisely because I run a blog about Overwatch:

  • I remember all the top 21 heroes of 2016 in alphabetical order too well, which is why I often tend to put “McCree” after Lucio rather than before D.Va as “Cassidy”. Whe I say “zenyatta”, I have already 21 names;
  • After Zenyatta, it’s all a question of remembering the release of the heroes, and for those who have always experienced the gameplay of the game it’s quite simple to remember up until when the generation of ow1 was interrupted (from Ana to Echo).
  • Obviously I automatically know that Sojourn guarantees me that I have already counted 33 heroes, and that ONLY the OW2 gen heroes should be counted with her release;

Very simple release order tricks?

  • Ana is “the first released after the debut of ow1” (therefore the 22nd;
  • Sombra is the 23rd as she was a very recurring number in the ARG involving her
  • Orisa and Doomfist arrive accordingly for the Numbani lore after sombra
  • Brigitte has always been recognized in articles as “the 27th Overwatch hero ruined the game” ( :smiling_face_with_tear:);
  • Echo is the last of the ow1 generation (32nd);

surely if I didn’t say them in this order I would forget some.

The game has been around long enough. It is pretty easy for the average OW player to know that.
