Can you make tanks more fun?

No one has ever wanted to play them and now it even worse, with that bread based “healer”.

I like to play Orisa one in a while and basicly every time on Illios.

And Supports?
Its so frustrting to know you coud play better but your DDs are just bosted.

Bread based healer is still better than no tank.

Personally, I don’t mind taking up tank, but lately it feels…unrewarding

Several times during a game I’ll make a set-up for my team so that we can ult/combo ult and get the point/payload.

Three Hammer Downs, a couple of gravs, a few Super chargers and nothing. NUH. THING. Every time I have my ult, I’m near spamming that it’s ready and then come execution time, NO ONE’s around, they change their minds in a dagnab picosecond , someone runs off to 1v6 the enemy team OR they panic ult.

Playing tanks is fun. Sorry - was fun, before Brigitte and new Hanzo.

Tanks are already fun.

What’s making them unfun is that team mates don’t collaborate and leave them to solo the enemy team.

I love playing tanks.

But I understand why people don’t like them - they’re generally immobile or otherwise gimped somehow, and tend to feel very vulnerable despite their health pools. Consider that while they have lots of HP, that only really matters against enemies that don’t have to aim so much (in other words, effectively have a set DPS, like Moira or Reinhardt.) Against heroes that have to aim, accuracy naturally improves, so their DPS improves, which greatly mitigates the value of that extra health. After all, aimed heroes can typically have a potential DPS close to 200dps before crits. That’s just standard left click fire.

So yeah, I can understand why people gravitate towards the high speed pew pew guys that can easily get into a position to start shooting, and get out when things get too hot. Meanwhile tanks and supports are often reliant on each other and these guys to have any fun at all. Like, Reinhardt’s shield is great, but unless he’s backing someone into a corner, just straight up plays like a flanker, or someone actually picks a f***ing Lucio for once and knows what speed aura does, he isn’t going to get to hit anything, which is actually pretty boring. They built his personality to be a proud meathead because of how newbies use his charge, when they really should have made him a sniveling coward because people learn quick that charge is actually pretty much garbage except when the planets align and someone on the enemy team is being stupid.

Yeah, there’s definite room for improvement here.
