Can you get banned for using a 3rd party custom crosshair?

has anyone used HudSight for overwatch? its an app on steam costs like 10 bucks, it simply adds an overlay of a custom crosshair and doesnt do anything else but i’m lowkey paranoid lol. does anyone know if its bannable?

I highly doubt it is since it’s just an overlay.

Yeah i doubt its legit.

Also overwatch has fairly good crosshair customization. Mines pretty basic, but ive seen some wild cross hairs people play with from just the games customization.

I would like to say no. However with Blizzard it’s to risky.

Why would you pay for a crosshair? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, I wouldn’t trust any 3rd party software.

Honestly, even if they did explicitly clear it I wouldn’t trust Blizz with how inconsistent they are.

Anything, and I mean ANYTHING is capable of flagging the Anti-cheat software.

If it messes with code, it’s ban worthy. I wouldn’t risk it.

I don’t know if it’s bannble in Overwatch but why would you want to use it in a game that offers custom cross hairs in the options anyway? Perhaps you get slightly more customisation with a third party app but it’s not really justifiable and you’re playing with fire for literally no advantage in Overwatch specifically.

In other games where you DO get an advantage, isn’t that usually regarded as cheating? IIRC Tarkov banned people who used a similar third party cross hair app and I’m certain there are more examples.

I would not risk it. Especially not for something meaningless like a crosshair (which even costs money…). You would be surprised to find out that you actually can play decently even without a crosshair if you tried it for a few minutes.

People dont need more crosshair options than we have right now. It will not make you better or provide any kind of value. Any normal person who does not play in tournaments or for a high price pool should just pick a simple crosshair and stick with it.

TLDR: Dont use any 3rd party tool for OW. Its neither needed nor will the phrase “it was just X tool” protect you if you ger banned.

It’s bannable as your using a third party program.
I doubt it’s detectable though.

Im curious what that crosshair has that the in game options menu doesnt??

Theres a lot of customizable options… from type to color to thickness and opacity… has outline options too… and u can make every hero diff if u want.
