Is there any way to work out if a player has unintentionally disconnected or rage quit?
There must be a way to tell if someone has clicked on leave game rather than been kicked out. I say this because recently my computer blue screened at the start of a competitive match taking my rank from 3.7k to 3.5k and wondered if Blizzard could remedy this.
Thanks!
I don’t think there is an easy way, cause all the game only sees that you left
Well i mean they could easily tell if they clicked a button but what if they unplugged their computer instead to avoid that? What if they unplugged their router? What if they used task manager to close overwatch? There’s a lot of ways to abuse a system thats only looking for you to press leave game to deduct sr so they just account for all of it and those with problems just kinda have to take it as it comes
They wont be restoring any sr loss but… Afaik even all the way up there the only sr loss you receive from a disconnect is a 50 sr one not a 200 sr one
They can detect if the microphone input and mouse movements indicate a desk slam before they disconnected. Foolproof way to detect ragequits.
Disconnect usually cause player to leave game before their vc and online status goes off after 20s or so, so that’s one of the ways for the system to detect it.
Still, people can fake out a socket kick by, well, literally unplug.
The game could give you 4 error pages. Like the famous and unsolved your rendering device has been lost. Followed by Bnet crashing. Really… why is Bnet rendered by the GPU. I don’t see steam freezing after card drivers fail. It than brings up 2 other windows of junk. Here’s your error code. Oh, please send us the crash report that does nothing. Never getting solved on Windows 7, 8, or 10. And the game still doesn’t get it wasn’t your fault. Forget figuring out rage quitting.
I would never quit a game mid match. If you’re going to lose a game you’re going to lose. No point losing 50SR and getting a 10 minute ban on top of that.
Plus I’ve been in so many games that seemed like it was a sure loss after the first round and then suddenly everybody gets their stuff together and we win.
I wish they did, I would completely abuse it with my friends on alt accounts so we don’t lose sr.
Rage quit is often, not so much about winning or losing, but about what you think of your team mate, of what they think of you…
I would, I have a lot of friends and we all have a bunch of alt accounts we play together with and if its clear the match is lost at the start, we leave, and if we are losing midmatch one of us leaves so we can get out of the game quicker and move on to the next one.
I wish they would make it so it could do what OP asks so we wouldnt even lose SR and could abuse it more.
I always thought rage quit, from my Left 4 Dead 1/2 versus days, was when you annoyed the enemy team so much that they left.
People would easily abuse this by disconnecting their internet or turning off their computer or console.
I mean if they feed kills and have low kills that’s a way I’d do it but, they’re are some really good teams and if you dced it’s look like you raged so probably bot
Aside from cameras in their room? No.
That would be an invasion of privacy. Let’s not let blizzard save recordings of the microphone, or even suggest that would be an ok thing to do, because it isn’t.
League of legends have done it, I don’t know how they exactly managed to do it but from what I’ve heard it works quite often.
C’mon, whats a little freedom for some security? It’s seems to be all the rage these days.
