All 3 you mentioned are infinitely more fun than spraying with Baptistes near zero recoil burst fire rifle while right clicking out heals between bursts.
You really struggle to comprehend challenging yourself as well. That doesn’t mean you throw…
If your hero has been dumpstered, you find the next most challenging that can also be viable.
I went from Tracer to McCree for instance. Im not going to play someone boring and mundane with an overinflated kit just to get SR. Im going to play something I like that requires improved mechanics to suceed and get better.
And?
That doesnt change you not seeing the point about the mentality behind the vast majority of DPS mains.
They arent going to bounce around to the most powerful heroes at any given time like most support or tank mains.
There will always be an element of them sacraficing a bit of potential for a win, prioritising instead the rewarding challenege of a harder and more engaging hero.
Really. Because all you hear on this forum is “DPS stop trying to run Widow into double shield”, “why do you still play Tracer” etc.
Tanks and supports jump on the most meta heroes readily. DPS are far more reluctant unless it happens to be an enjoyable and mechanically challenging hero.
They clearly draw a different crowd. Those looking to improve and earn a reward vs win at any cost even if its resorting to one tricking Moira…
Most people favour the fun approach, hence 80% of the player base are DPS mains. And that is how it will remain.
The supports mindset is pretty different that is for sure.
But to understand it, I’ll see if I can dig up an old post. A lot of supports WANT a pure support, but overwatch removed the only one we had.
Have you ever wondered WHY the support players tended to pick up Sombra, Mei and D’va?
They like to win by out thinking the enemy. DPS want to rely on twitch reflex, the supports want to think their way out of problems. They play a MUCH more complex game than the DPS do.
A good example of the support players games outside of OW is the “shopping counter” games, where you are juggling a LOT of different things all at once.
It is a VERY different play style.
it is also why the supports are an older crowd. preteens play DPS. Older people tank / support.
I am enjoying Ashe for the much simplier direct playstyle. You click on their heads, and they drop.
If I am playing well, we win the game. If I play badly I lose the game. It is simple, direct, and full of impact, all of the things the support role isn’t.
Dude if your actually trying to block any kind of meaningful damage DM will usually be exhausted. There are reasonson Why dva is in the state she’s been. Immortality is just another dm and it needs to go if they are gonna keep destroying DM
I don’t think people realize how many support players are only in the game BECASE Baptiste exists. He’s the perfect balance between DPS and support; I want to get frags, and I want to keep my team alive.
Not one or the other, and if Bap gets reworked or nerfed away I’m probably dont playing the game. Don’t mind the other supports in small doses but Bap is what makes the game interesting for me.
His anti-bloom looks to have been stealth nerfed already (if you move the cursor at all there’s bloom again) and his weapon is very fairly balanced.
Expect support queue times to go up if Baptiste becomes garbage tier, trust me. There’s nothing seriously fun about healing tanks and avoiding fights.
I mean yeah, he is only meta because Ana doesn’t have that strong survivability to herself and to her team, and the other support cannot provide enough healing output. If we would have more main supports, he maybe would not even be meta…
The only nerf i’d accept to him is revert his fire rate… But keep that in mind that Ana and Baptiste’s healing grenade has the same fire rate, and Ana heals 75/ shot while Baptiste heals 60/ per shot. And also I’d not say that Bap’s healing is easier to hit, you have to predict sometimes your teammates if you want to land a longer shot, and that’s much more easier to do with a hit-scan aiming. Also Ana is better at healing smaller, fast paced flankers or Pharah than Baptiste. Baptiste is much better at healing tanks thou.
