Can we talk about some of the weirdly censored words?

Don’t get me wrong, cussing isn’t good. But there are some words that just don’t make any sense. Words used on TV in PG-13 shows. If godd@mn can be used on Big Bang Theory, why can’t I write it on the T for Teens Overwatch Forum?

Because blizzard thinks they gotta parent the kids instead of the parents doing their job and actually parenting their children and making sure their not getting into content that’s not for them.

there is a nickname for orisa’s ult which is censored i guess because it can be a drug reference but come on its a common nickname for orisa’s ult

Average Overwatch player is like 12 probably. No way it’s teens. Who do you think all these bronze players are? They are little kids.

The game is rated T for teens. I think McCree or Reyes says “damn it” in Retribution. I shouldn’t have to censor “godd@mn” because it really isn’t a curse word.

Who said cussing is bad? Just because Overwatch has fallen prey to the commonality of linguistic conservatism doesnt mean its bad. Swearing is a form of expression and part of the english language, but they also have the right to censor whatever they deem necessary.

The general rule of thumb is the more you censor, the more the kiddies with mommy’s credit card can play.

I can guess as to why, majority of people on this forum are monolingual, only speaking and understanding english.

I have yet to take a Spanish class that teaches me how to cuss in Spanish.

To be fair, all online interactions are unrated.

Just because the base game is rated T doesn’t mean the entire experience is.
