Can we talk about D.va literally dying for her country

Before she self destructs, Hana says "see on after the finish line’. Shes literally saying goodbye, shes talking about the fact shes gonna die. Because I’m a sucker for things like this, I paused the video and saw theres literally tears in her eyes.
This is a 19 year old girl, who gets offended when widow says the battlefield is no place for a child, and greatly fears the work she does.

Now, she did literally die since when shes being taken to hospital theres a doctor using defibrillators on her. She literally needed to be brought back to life. Its crazy to think someone who is BARELY an adult, and still in her teenage years has come close to death so many times, and has literally died is able to still abide by the ‘unstoppable hero’ portrayed by the media.

Maybeher in game attitude is her way of dealing with ptsd, while the selfie and such give the media images to give the fans of the d’va the media created

I think shes streaming in-game, so she puts on the D.va Persona so people watching won’t be taking the fights as serious.

Kinda like how Korea paints her as an unstoppable defender

figuratively. The word is figuratively.

Her heart stopped. Thats death as literal as it can get

Didn’t you make another post saying her squad was dead too? Calm down guy.

The topic talks about her being brought back with a defibrulator. Depending on your definition of death, the argument can be made that the use of “literally” was correct. Also it’s annoying when people are so pendantic about word usage. Language evolves. I don’t see the point in stifling that.

hops out of her mech
waits for some distance
shoots the reactor
was totally trying to die for Aiur

Dunno why she just didn’t have another mech pick her up like in game

yeah ive been replying in other topics because I wanna discuss the cinematic ^.^

I think he\she meant D.va was preparing to die\had a chance to die

I never noticed the whole “tears in her eyes” after saying that line and the defibtulator scene. I need to re-watch it catch it!

If it’s true, then yeah, she’s pretty deep and mature. Being 19, a young adult, barley beginning to live life and die for your country, she’s definitely proven she’s more “adult” than most of the OW cast. Most 18 year olds who sign up for the army…it saddens me knowing some do the same. It’s weird seeing her act like this when in game, is a whole different persona.

Being a little overdramatic here.

There isn’t though.
What you’re seeing is likely just from the broken glass right in front of her face.

5:52 in the video, her eyes are all watery and her face is contorted in a way that makes it look like shes crying ^.^

…? what? she isn’t crying she’s focusing really hard on her aim. CmonMan

We can, but I think it is far more important to talk about whether the five meka can combine to form a megameka, and who gets to be the head.

… My god youre absolutely right!!
D.Va would probably be the head because shes captain right??

Defibrillators are known as devices that stabilize irregular hearbeat, such as quivers, or out of rhythm heartbeats, or to prevent damage from the heart beating too fast.

Technically, they prevented it, they did not perform the most hated ability in the game instead.

Funny thing because the devs said that they might kill-off a hero, I really thought D.Va is going to get killed-off for good. It’s silly because it’s actually a flashback, why did I think that.
