Can we skip all this 1-3-2 nonsense and just put a hard limit on tank and support?

It’s quite obvious the only reason 2-2-2 was implemented is because of the rampant popularity of goats in OWL and the fact that in every other rank it was a completely different meta. This disparity is what was causing huge issues. 2-2-2 feels way better for people who generally flex, tank or support, but for dps mains It simply isn’t a good option.

Then they added activities you could do while searching, like skirmishes or death match to detract from the problem.

Now they are adding 1 -3 -2 which is another bandaid to the problem? I don’t get it.

Just set a HARD limit of 2 tanks or 2 supports can be picked in a game. That way people can get in games no matter what. 2 - 2 - 2 still exists for those who want to pick it. People can lose qm in 6 dps comps for all anyone cares, and every other composition other than mindless goats can exist.

That would require them basically admitting they made a mistake and I don’t see them doing it :stuck_out_tongue: Miss being able to pick whatever and not having to wait :frowning: I like tanking but I don’t like always having to pick tank/support just to get a reasonable wait time.

I am fine ultimately if they do it, because like about half the tank players I will pretty much quit doing it and pick up the balance as DPS, thereby offsetting and competing with the current DPS playerbase for queueing. Good times, and best part? Before you had a 50/50 shot at your DPS selection, now… 33% :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Sucks to one-trick DPS… and whine about queue times.

Not saying anything will be fixed by it, but everyone complaining and acting like they are already making it permanent when it’s just an experiment right now. xD

You don’t experiment unless you want to make changes. Can someone please tell me any experiment in this game that hasn’t led to some serious change to a character, map, or gameplay element?

I won’t like it, but OTOH, I can live without tanking and do the balance DPS. Given how crappy the 50% of DPS we have is, I’ll probably enjoy it more anyhow.

Personally I don’t keep up with that much news about Overwatch, so I am not really sure, I come here from time to time to see any changes, then quickly leave because… it’s the forums. xD

So I don’t know of any.

People need to learn to chill again. Maybe then we can start to have nice things again. lol

First they made 2 - 2 - 2, then they made you able to play games during queue times because the queue times were too long, now they are trying a whole new mode just with one deviation of the comp.

What’s next 2 - 3 - 1 mode? 1 - 4 - 1 mode?

Instead of the 2-2-2 which they have now they could abandon the role que entirely and just have role limits in a match. 2 teams of 6 would que up for matches like they did before 2-2-2 but once you got in a match there would be a limit to the number of characters in each class that could be picked at a time per team. 4-2-2 would probably be best considering what people liked to play before 2-2-2. No more than 4 dps, 2 tanks, or 2 support characters could be selected at a time per team. Once a class got it’s max number selected those characters would be greyed out until someone decided to switch. Right now they keep having to nerf the tanks because 2 dps chars isn’t enough dps to kill them. Certain other characters who cause tanks problems would be more easily focused down with more dps on a team :slight_smile: “Could avoid some nerfs from that”. Just my opinion :wink:

Precisely the solution. I just don’t understand their thought process. I’m not going to slowly backtrack if the mode clearly isn’t working. Overwatch devs always try to take something to the extreme, and it was clear 2 - 2 - 2 was an emergency change.

The main issue with non-RQ games outside of high-ranking Comp was that there were too many DPS and someone usually ended up soloing a role. This blocks GOATS, but it doesn’t help with that.

Well actually 3 dps, 2 tanks, 2 support limits might be the best balance if you wanted a limit on dps too. About half the players go dps Geoxyx. Might work. Just throwing idea out there. It is the forums :wink:
