She is completely outmatched by essentially every other support in there. Every game that I’ve played where a team, be it mine or the enemies, that had an ana suffered a massive support gap. Ana isn’t well suited for this mode at all. She can only heal a single target, and incredibly slowly at that. Given how fast paced this mode is, it really doesn’t work in her favor and leaves the entire team feeling like their efforts are going in vain. She needs to be removed, or given an ability that allows her to get around easier while healing multiple targets.
Maybe one of her super skills should be “herd immunity” where she can heal one target, and that healing spreads to other characters at like 50% to 25% depending on their distance from her healing target? It could also spread debuff immunity and what not.
Sounds like the opposite of how she is in the normal game modes. But yeah… this mode is all about running at your opponents and you know what happens when people run at Ana and you can take a total of 2 steps back.
There’s a perk you can buy to increase nades radius.
Perks to reduce nades cooldown.
Perk to make your non-scoped projectiles get a little bigger.
Perk to accelerate the scope animation.
Perks to accelerate your rate of fire.
And perks to increase your healing potency.
Many ways to work around.
Learn to use Biotic Orb more frequently.
Stack Ability Power and watch a critical health 800 HP tank go from 100 health to max health after one Biotic Grenade.
Or, just a single shot from her primary fire to heal/kill a single ally/target from critical to full with weapon power stacking.
That seems more like late game strats though. I’d argue its a problem if a character’s not competitive with others as soon as the game starts.
That said, some characters just do better in late game. I saw a D.va go from being bullied by Zarya to tanking her lasers pretty well starting at round 3. That’s kinda late for that sort of thing, but it shows there’s potential.
There does seem to be some issues with certain supports basically “capping” their potential growth very early on. Ana is one of them but, her Ability Powers are still pretty legit, and all I’m talking about here is scaling up towards late game or keeping pace with the current round.
Tanks have some fairly modest growth, and it does take them some time really get into their builds. Comparatively, from what I’ve found, the Damage-role really comes out in the late game as some of the strongest in Stadium.
Supports are pretty static, and mostly what you’re doing is just enhancing those healing powers in some more creative ways, like more frequent Pulsars, or more Biotic Orbs. Nothing that really changes up what you do.
Base game: “remove Ana she’s OP and ruins tanks”
Stadium: “remove Ana she’s bad”
Ana mains can’t win huh
I think her main issue is that her currency rates are kinda wonky. It rewards damage way more than healing for her. Compared to Kiri who you can get an easy MVP by heal botting, especially vs JQ cause cleansing a debuff gives absurd econ. Ana has to go dps to keep up econ which is hard if you wanna do literally anything besides a weapon build.
The Nade build is strong, but probably has legit the worst econ.
Nano build is a bit better econ but still bad cause it’s high impact but it stats poorly on the scoreboard.
Sleep build is IMO weaker than the other two, but if you build heals on sleep where it heals the tank for 100% of their hp, and they have 1000 hp in the late game, it’s kinda crazy and has ight econ.
Weapon build with small investments in sleep (bigger hitbox) and Nade (overhealth) is her best cause you can farm MVP’s and cash with it while still having high impact CD’s.
She’s better at higher ranks, low rank Ana’s already suck to begin with no matter what the mode due to her kit being aim intensive.
The other healers have less emphasis on mechanical skill so it’s much easier to get value.
Wait until you run into a high rank Ana in stadium with a build that’s constructed from actually countering your team build choices.
I’ve been really enjoying playing her around Battlefield Sniper (Unscoped shots give increased attack speed) + the item that makes her darts 100% bigger. I’ve had a fair amount of success building around that and her nade so far. It basically means you can just spam heals into your tank, get a super high attack rate and then burst down some enemy squishies really quickly.
She only has two main problems in this mode really. First, the inability to scale up weapon and ability power hard together affects her harder than any other support. You really feel when one of them is low regardless of how you build. The second is that she seems to have a really low Stadium Credit earn rate. I’ve seen some people get MVP with her admittedly, but I’ve seen it with every hero, and this one is really rare in my matches. But usually she’s a good 1K-2.5K behind in earnings of her team in my matches, depending on how far into the match we are.
I’ve only played one match as Ana in stadium but I didn’t find it problematic at all. But that was just one match. She might be outclassed if I keep playing her.
The only supports better than Ana are Juno and Kiriko.
Indeed.
These are the same conclusions I came to. I didn’t really try the Sleep build, because of how long Sleep is as a cooldown and felt like I needed for the enemy team shutdowns than for my team.
Not much different from Mercy or Kiriko.
Juno and Moira seem to be the only ones that can really stack Ability Power and make really good use of it.
Idk, I always go for double nade healing, reduced CD´s, multi - nano and she is blast…
What??? Ana straight busted into some comps. Un scoped attack speed on hit, and crit to allys and enemies Powers, attack speed/Weapon Power/ Larger Magazine/ un scoped projectile size ana go buurrrrr
Ana starts off really well in Stadium, but her power growth isn’t nearly as strong as other supports. They can all rapidly out pace her.
She also has issues if she can’t set up far in the backline. Most of the maps used a pretty small and have covered approaches to the backline. Ana needs to keep her head on a swivel to avoid being flanked.
Say please and blizzard will do it just for you.
Respectfully, no. I recently got the MVP title from this mode, and Ana was one of the easiest to win with. Heals are broken this mode with bountiful aoe heals that make overtimes very intense. Whereas a well placed nade can shut all that down, FAST.
