w/o this RoF, cree becomes a trash pick, he has a close to tank wide hitbox model, so he needs some good offence at least for that. Still skill required there that should be a crucial thing for your mind, bc it doesn’t matter how fast you miss right?
Counting pure damage per second, sure, but McCrees is burst damage and thats honestly the only damage that really matters anymore. Sustain damage gets healed, rapid fire burst damage gets kills.

So true. Total spammer now. Not to mention he has the EASIEST instakill in the game. They need to make the stun grenade waaaay less forgiving so it actually requires aim. No more of this walk up to someone and throw it at your feet to stun anyone around you. And fan-the-hammer is not even the worst part. What is absolutely ridiculous to me is that he can get two headshots before the other player can move at all. Fire rate nerf please then we can talk about stun

revert his firerate, give -1 sec on his roll or something to compensate
Hi stats major here. the only thing that’d not sit well is that last bit about “what truth is” and mainly because it’s a really broad statement “against” math/stat when it’s ultimately very subjective e.g. what if someone defines “truth” as a statistical measure? then in that case, “stats is truth” etc. or well a more specific example: what if someone defines “best damage hero” as “deals the most damage”, and then pretty much the max function is the truth, yada yada yada.
McCree isn’t even good, he’s decent. Check his winrate vs all the other heroes around his pickrate and you’ll see. He has, by far, the lowest winrate among the top 10 picked heroes in GM. That’s not a fricken coincidence. But some people REFUSE to acknowledge this, or wave it away for the convenience of their argument in favor of personal anecdotes.
i think he had worse winrate because mcree is a pick u do when u dont know what to pick
like kabaji having hard time with his tracer get countered, and he try to switch to mcree to win a lose game
If they can’t make it work still, that speaks to McCree’s overall inability to make it work effectively against the most aggressive teams. Ana, Rein, Lucio, Brig, Zarya all make it work pretty well, but he apparently can’t. He just happens to be the most picked due to particular factors, but he’s clearly not the most effective. The DPS line-up is actually not that imbalanced atm.
I agree, he’s super annoying and OP, but I believe the only way to nerf him without him being extremely weak again is a slight nerf to his fire rate, that is all, everything else is fine.

McCree has an RoF of 2 rounds per second (rounding down). If you are point blank, and not landing headshots that comes out to 140 DPS. Headshots, will get you 280 DPS. FtH with a fully loaded pistol gets you 300 DPS, no crits possible.
it’s not a sniper rifle though, it starts to lose damage at 20m, there was once a point in the games life his gun did have no fall-off but it’s not true now.
and his FTH was far more powerful back in the day and his flash lasted longer etc.
mccrees buffs have been towards his fire rate and his dead-eye so far but not much else.
he’s just a good average character that can deal with a lot of things, not the best at dealing with things but it’s doable.
me looking at sym’s kit compared to other dps:
I mean, it could definitely be worse overall. I’d rather Sym and Bastion, maybe even Sombra get moved to different roles, honestly.
their role doesn’t really matter if they don’t balance them right (whether that’s due to incompetence or prejudice or both, idk, but it’s defs due to at least one). we’ve seen that with sym’s shift to dps. released underpowered, taking baby steps to bring her up, essentially undid the rework with infinite tp, then further nerfed her down because people can’t see how much double shield enabled sym (who arguably was enabled the most) but somehow they easily use that justification for reaper, mei, df, etc. to not get them nerfed for double shield …
The only problem I find with McCree is the relatively low aim that you need to have.
Just shoot in the general direction of the enemy and it’s very easy to get both body shots and headshots.
That said, I lately find Ashe ability to make so easily headshots from such a long distance, with so little recoil for a second shot, to be much more irritating. But it’s probably because I’m using Ana, so I get more of them than last week with Brigitte or Sigma.
How is that any different from any other hitscan hero? Or even projectile? What an innane argument.
