All I want is to at least TRY and TEST out 15m beam length & 120 dps orbs on Symmetra. Just a test to collect data and see if it’ll make her busted or if it’ll finally put her in a spot where she isn’t just a taxi from spawn and overshadowed by literally the entirety of the dps roster.
15m beam length would be broken beyond belief
i just think it’s crazy how Cassidy for example out pokes & out damages Symmetra from being able to shoot across the map whilst having more HP than her as well. i’m not disagreeing with you where you may fear 15m beam being broken, but i do wanna just TRY it out just in case it actually isn’t broken and turns out to just be a change that would again, bring her up from a taxi bot & being overshadowed by the entirety of the dps roster to a character worth picking whenever.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Sym gets done dirty. I just think it you tried changes like this, it would just make people hate her more. I’m afraid she’ll need another rework before they let her be powerful again.
the 120 dps orbs imo are needed because she still wont be able to 2 shot with them like she previously could, however it would now just be harder for supports to heal up allies before she could secure the kill with her 3rd shot where as right now, the damage of her orbs are easily out healed
its also frustrating that heroes like Sombra & Mei, who the community also find annoying/frustrating to play against, are allowed to be powerful and viable in most team comps yet Symmetra isn’t? it makes no sense to me

The issue with Symettra is that the devs primarily balance around winrates.
Symettra has always had a high winrate. Purely because she is mostly played on her strong (few) maps that favour her. And the few people that main her can make her work on most maps, because they specialize her.
Her high winrate has nothing to do with her being OP, or even strong. It is 90% to do with playing her on her favourable maps.
Buffing her might make her too annoying to play against on her strong maps, perhaps the devs are cautious of that? If that’s the case she probably needs another (small) rework, to be less OP on her strong maps and stronger on every other map.
I’d imagine increasing her damage like you suggest, meanwhile making teleport only work for Symettra and not the team, as other people have suggested would be a start.
Also as someone else mentioned in another thread, turn Syms orbs into Halo Plasma Pistol. You can hold it at max charge without it automatically shooting. That alone is QoL but imo a massive buff.
All it would do is put her in line with other beam heroes. Zarya is 15m beam range. Mercy is 15m beam range. Moira’s left click is 15m and her right click is 20m. Echo’s focusing beam is even 16m.
It makes no sense that a squishy DPS hero with a big hitbox and no mobility has a shorter beam range than all of those other heroes who have mobility/tankiness.
If Sym is gonna stay at 12m beam she needs to get her extra +25 HP back so she can be more tanky and get up close to people easier.
