I understood why it was left in QP rotation initially, but at this point I can’t remember the last time I played a full 6v6 on this map. Every game we have people leaving, backfilling, leaving, backfilling, sometimes on both teams, sometimes on one.
There’s simply not enough players who want to play this map. It ruins it for those of us who try to stay in every single game and not leave unless there’s an emergency. Let it be accessable in custom games so anyone who wants to play it can do so. I’m sure it’ll get a cult following there, or just keep it in Arcade rotation perhaps.
But it’s seriously painful. I audibly sigh whenever I see the loading screen for Horizon pop up
To rephrase, if I leave a game there’s normally a genuine reason. Like somebody is at my door, my internet’s gone down, my toaster has caught fire, whatever the case may be. I’m not one of those players who leaves a game simply because it’s unfun or unbalanced. I join a game with the intent of seeing it through to the end so as not to spoil the fun for other players
I don’t understand why people leave Horizon. After the reworks it’s not even that bad. There are multiple maps much worse than that and yet somehow it and Paris are the only ones people leave. Just goes to show how sheepish people are “Paris and Horizon bad, must leave”
I can understand why people may leave since that first point can be really nasty to push if you’re lacking in coordination (which is going to happen with randoms). As for the defenders, if you lose your advantage on the first point, recovering can be REALLY difficult because the rollout is so long and the point has a lot of cover.
The last point can also be frustrating to cap since you need to clean up a good majority of the enemy team at once to be able to reasonable capture it without being contested.
It’s just that basically all of this is true for all 2CP maps. Anubis and Hanamura are even worse than Horizon. At least Horizon does give more options to push first point.
