Can we just remove RNG from the first person shooter?

The amount of RNG that exist within this game is dumb. At it’s core Overwatch is a First Person Shooter yet it doesn’t feel like this 90% of the time. Yet the devs keep adding more and more RNG to the game with sigma being able to ricochet his shots, which yes can be used skillfully but it can also just be used to fire randomly into a room around the corner.

It also feels like every game I get killed by a moira orb that the moira forgot she threw or a stray junkrat shot that was fired without even seeing the enemy team. It’s infuriating and just dumb since it doesn’t need to exist.

Sigma primary fire RNG?..yeah because bounces like 20 times I’m sure. The real RNG of this game are teammates that you get.

Your healer needs to do a better job healing then. Moira orbs aren’t all that potent.

Junkrat is a hero designed to make non-LOS shots, that’s not RNG.

That’s kind of in line with why they can ricochet, if you suspect there’s an enemy around the corner you can’t see, you can strategically shoot without the ability to be shot back at.

That’s design in motion, not random generated numbers.

RNG in action is the exact spread Bastion/Sombra/S76’s/Widow’s automatic fire shots will encompass, nothing is defined once spread takes effect. There is no pattern to the shot position once bloom is activated.

Your examples are not RNG, there is no random number generated nor do those shots take some random trajectory. That’s just bad luck for you.

not gonna add more to that

that doesnt make em less of rng, and healers arent omnipotent
your Real tip would be stop flanking or making plays, play 76 and stay glued to your support so that rng doesnt kill you, which would be just as stupid as tip since the game incourages playmaking.

I think someone doesn’t understand what RNG is. Overwatch isn’t a platformer. RNG would be if mccree’s ult went through walls, locked onto everyone on the enemy team, but killed a single person at random.

Random events are less likely to happen in competitive games, since RNG is based on chance. Not skill.

Like someone said, the only RNG in overwatch is the teammates you get.

So you would say that a Moira orb that comes out of nowhere was calculated by that moira despite having thrown it 10 seconds prior.

Theres nothing random about that tho. You think someone is in a room and fire…not random

Beyond the second or third bounce, it can go to random places but then again, its not an invisible threat that doesnt make any noise and does 1000 damage.

Stop acting like there are FULL 200 damage orbs hidden everywhere and killing at least 1 person every 10 seconds. It just doesnt happen.
