there are so many throwers in bronze who openly admit to throwing and just sit in spawn or feed. i report them and i get the message that they have been punished but from what i am told they are just able to buy a new account. this is ridiculous and needs to be punished hard. can we get hwid bans???

If all these changes from experiment go live Im gonna throw, I mean might as well cause if im not playing a braindead hero its practically forfeiting the match.
They are probably already doing this. No one in this day and age bans cheaters by IP or account only.
Though, HWID is not that hard to change too.

Also have to say that blizz’ cheat detection system is just absolute trash, but I hope that IF they catch cheaters, it’s just a hard ban of their entire blizzard account.
Probably not for throwers, because there’s just too small of a gap between what players find “intentionally feeding and throwing” and “just having a bad day / new to the game and making bad decisions”. Would be unfair and way too harsh to hwid ban someone for the latter.
If they don’t - it’s plain stupid. What’s your source on that?
This doesn’t help the situation. Just like locks are only protection against lazy robbers, HWID bans are a protection against lazy cheaters. The good ones which these bronze throwers are will just get a new account regardless
What I’m saying and I can’t emphasize this enough is: THERE’S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT PLAYERS BUYING NEW ACCOUNTS TO PLAY ON. 0%. NADA. A SOLUTION TO THIS DOESN’T EXIST. EVERYTHING CAN BE WORKED AROUND AND IDENTIFYING A NEW ACCOUNT AS SOME OTHER ACCOUNT IS NOT A THING
For whatever it’s worth, each ban costs them a bit under 12$
Literal laws in many countries, if you send a information deletion to Blizzard, they HAVE to remove any and all information on you, that includes any property you own. Europeans will know this. Big on privacy here.

They can easily setup a system in a way that doesn’t require keeping an actual HWID to keep it working. They can keep a hash of that HWID and compare it during connection, without storing your actual information. I know about privacy and GDPR, but this is a problem that has solutions.
Im not a genji main im a flex player ive been a flex player ever since the game came out, granted their are characters I will not touch because ive played them, and they are boring as heck to play or have such unsatisfying gameplay that I wont touch them and if I do then I feel dirty afterwards. I was fine with the genji buffs and had literally zero issue dealing with him even as characters he is supposed to effectively counter in low diamond high plat so before you try and say im an average person theres that for you.
But to effectively buff a character that was already easy to gain value with (moira) and give that character additional tech to pull even more value out of that character is just such a bs thing to do.
I don’t care what you write, I wont read it. You are a thrower I have nothing to say to you. It’s really quite unfortunate that Blizzard does not outright ban those that admit to and brag about throwing on those forums.

Hardware bans doesn’t work because most of the cheats out there spoof the hardware id.
HWID won’t work all the time. People are bound to get past it some form or another
