I was watching these videos and was thinking why not have some low polygon PS1 style versions of the default skins:
I bet the 3d modelers and texture artists at Blizzard (who are so strong and handsome) could easily do something like this without breaking a sweat.

Because they would look terribly out of place in OW?

These skins would be a major distration and would be out of place.

Wait, I can kind of do it with 50% resolution and Low poly models but we need it to be lower. I want to run this game as if it was meant for a toaster.

Ugh… what the hell is the appeal of retro graphics? Like at this point, making a pixel game is akin to copping out. It’s 2021, make a game with ACTUAL graphics dammit!
The hitscan aiming feels like Quake, so let’s make it look like Quake while we’re at it.
No, they have to enjoy what I enjoy or they don’t get to enjoy anything at all! -terrible people who think they’re more important than they are

This looks more like 1996 PC not PS1 lol
I think the polygon-graphic skins could work for the omnics, especially Echo, who’s already 50% hologram so there’s an explanation for the weird appearance.
Spiderman PS1 didn’t look like that
I woudl totally play that on PS1 but PS1 skins in a modern game will just look terrible in 720p and higher.

Genji would look like Grey Fox from MGS1. If you’re younger than 25 you don’t know what I’m talking about.

For comparison, here’s some Brave Fencer Musashi gameplay.
