Can we get Thanksgiving skins JUST once?

Come on. Pilgrims, turkeys, native Americans, umm… yams? I dunno.

Edit: Maybe no natives, wouldn’t want Blizz to get slammed for non existent game characters engaging in offensive cultural appropriation

Do you really think they will add new events after seeing this year? It was a copy paste almost every time…

Never said anything about an event, just skins.

I dont think so tbh… and new skins would be a decent because our events are… just skins…

What you’re talking about is Thanksgiving as it exists only in the USA. Every other country on earth doesn’t give a damn about it. Maybe McCree, Reaper or Soldier could have Thanksgiving skins with turkeys and crap.

Then again, Halloween with Jack-O-Lanterns and Trick or Treating is mostly a USA thing as well… hmm…

Why should we celebrate Brittish immigrants slaughtering most of the natives and stealing their land? Thankgiving is frankly a horrid thing.

No. A holiday for such a small part of the word is very exclusive.

Also, thanksgiving really isn’t something to be celebrated.

Like America cares about CHinese New Year?

I’m sure they already have the rest of this year planned out, so if it were to happen, it’d be next year. But doubtful. Hopefully they do start releasing new themes and new events instead of the same all the time.

I have no clue what you “think” Thanksgiving is supposed to be celebrating but you should probably brush up on its origins.

i heard about thanksgiving, but i dont care for it, thats USA only, i don’t want it really

Lunar new year is celebrated by like that entire half of the planet and has thousands of years of history to draw inspiration from.

Meanwhile thanksgiving isn’t even as culturally important as the shopping on the day after.

The myth is that it celebrates settlers and natives coming together. Convenient to ignore the part where they got slaugthered, isn’t it?

Chinese new year is important, because china is biggest cash source for blizzard)

That’s true but also i think thanks to whatever reason people know halloween no matter where they live i guess, i mean i live in europe and around halloween we have stores full of halloween stuff even tho, officially we do not celebrate it in any form.

Lunar new year event it’s more interesting one as probably no one except asian people care about it but still it has “new year” in name so it’s something people understand and are not confused by

Convenient to ignore basically the entire actual history, not what modernization tacked onto it. Show me where it states here anything to do with colonization, direct from Wikipedia:

“n the United States, the modern Thanksgiving holiday tradition is traced to a sparsely documented 1621 celebration at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts, and also to a well recorded 1619 event in Virginia. The 1621 Plymouth feast and thanksgiving was prompted by a good harvest. Pilgrims and Puritans who began emigrating from England in the 1620s and 1630s carried the tradition of Days of Fasting and Days of Thanksgiving with them to New England. The 1619 arrival of 38 English settlers at Berkeley Hundred in Charles City County, Virginia, concluded with a religious celebration as dictated by the group’s charter from the London Company, which specifically required “that the day of our ships arrival at the place assigned … in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually kept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.”[7][8]”

I was thinking the same thing, this would be a USA thing only, so kinda pointless globally.

I demand 6th of December event Itsenäisyyspäivä, because It’s the Finnish Independence day. I also find the lack of Finnish heroes very disturbing.
But I guess there is actually very little global demand for some countries national holidays.
It would be cool though! Like have a little notification: In the world united against common threat, in the multicultural strike force Overwatch we comment for the some heroes countries national day. “Happy Sveriges nationaldag Torbjörn and Brig!” (it’s on the 6th of July)

Go to Las Vegas during Lunar New Year and you will see how wrong you are.
