Technically Res atm does require LoS. Mercy can just cheese it by breaking LoS for a short while.
IDM the slow cast time as long as she isn’t forced to stand still upon casting again.

First, I dont see the one leading to the other
Second, I consider mass re to have been THE worst power ever added to the game, with no close second. I do not want to see it or the unwanted and unheroic behavior associated with it ever in the game again
Who remembers the creator experimental patch? It had mass Rez.
Not counting ults, you have:
Orisa’s spear throw (reasonable)
Doomfist punch (reasonable)
Hog hook (reasonable)
Sigma rock (pretty reasonable)
Rein pin (lol)
Ana sleep (lenghty cd, and likely on said cd due to either having to force a diver off you or using it to initiate)
as interrupt-capable cc. Five are on tanks, which we only get one of and if you’re playing optimally you might not get to pick one of them, so realistically you only get two. When you add ults:
Rein shatter (fight-winning ult and the only thing really keeping him viable, if it was optimal to save shatter for mass rez pick a different tank, also you already have pin and all the bugginess that comes with it so shatter doesn’t really count)
Brig shield bash (two button presses makes it so you’re not consistently interrupting mass rez on reaction, plus Brig ult is fight-winning and you wouldn’t ever save it just to interrupt mass rez)
This isn’t 2016, we don’t have flashbang and non-ult shield bash. You don’t often stop rez with cc, you stop it with making the Mercy respawn.
What about a rework into something unique and different?
Random idea I’ve had before.
- Rez has OG cast time
- Rez can be cast from distance like OG rez, but not through walls
- Rez only one target, so you must look toward the soul of target you want to rez
- The rez target is now undead. They have 8-10 seconds to get a kill to be fully resurrected. They can kill and be killed in this state. Perhaps their silhouette is purplish.
- Kill has to be a final blow, not an elimination
- After the 8-10 second timer, rez target rapidly loses HP, it’s not instadeath, but close-ish. This means with enough pocketing perhaps double pocket with transcendence and taking no damage, you can extend timer to live to 10-12 seconds to give them a chance to get the kill.
A lot of people will hate this idea, I have no idea how OP or UP it would be, but there’s some reasons for this madness.
- Mercy doesn’t like staying still to Rez. It’s boring, it’s frustrating for the Mercy. Just pop rez and be done with it and keep flying around.
- This puts half the responsibility of the rez in the player who is resurrected. They need to be skilled enough to get a final blow.
- Even if they don’t get a final blow, they can still provide enough damage and value in the 8-10 seconds for the team to turn a fight in the midfight.
- Enemy tank can counter the rez by mitigating the undead players damage. This adds some counterplay to the rez for tank.
- This removes an annoying aspect of Rez that players vs’ing Mercy face. That is when you get an entry pick pre-fight that would be huge for your team, and Mercy can rez it for free since the fight hasn’t started and Mercy is uncontested behind a wall.
- Currently those pre-fight resurrects are many of Mercy’s successful resurrects. This change removes that, but makes Mercy’s midfight resurrects successful, at least on the Mercy’s part. Then it’s up to the undead guy to get the final blow.
I agree. There are so many ultimates that can wipe out the entire team with the push of a button. I want my undo button back.

It exacerbates team diffs hard when one side is already struggling to pick off a single enemy only for it to be undone immediately, and regular players clearly can’t shoot down a Mercy doing it right in front of them within the window they’re given.
Mass rez was never a powerful ult.

The entire time it was in the game, it was by far the worst support ult.

Those are almost all tank abilities, which is why I said non-tank. You can only have one tank on your team. Almost all the rest are light knockbacks, which don’t work against tanks with their recent buff to knockback resistance, and they’re the ones that most need to be CCed.
Mass rez has nothing to do with CC. It was awful on its own.
Never going to happen. safe to say these heroes are designed with their abilities in mind as their identity.
You forgot Sombra hack and Lifeweaver petal. Lifting the Mercy up could remove LoS for some bodies if LoS remains. That, and add distance.
And either way, killing the Mercy is technically a counter. And still- all of those abilities are CC. The point remains, there’s enough CC in the game to make it fine by now.
Bringing back Mass Rez would just make Mercy’s hide in the corner again just to get the max rez off. Was not a fun playstyle.
